I made something like this before but don't think anyone posted but i'll try here at the new place.

Just wondered if anyone here plays snooker or pool regulary or just watches/follow it etc?

I've played snooker a few times with my dad and I must say it's a pretty hard game. You really need to know how to shoot. Much bigger table with smaller pockets.

When I was in college I played pool all the time. Got to be pretty good too.
Since then I rarely play, and because of that I suck bigtime now! hahaha

I am currently in 2 pool leagues. I play Sunday afternoons in a 9-ball league, and Wednesday nights in an 8-ball league. I love it, mainly because its a fun day/night out with friends, but also because I'm constantly getting better at the game.

I was captain of my pubs pool team for a while but had to give it up as it was costing to much, beer and taxi's home.

I play in both an 8-ball and 9-ball league. Don't get much practice in or I would probably be really good. Just don't like to hang out at the pub that much. I'm a pretty good shot nonetheless.

Ah my god, thats my dream. I'm a massive 9-ball fan but you can't find shit here. There are tournaments once every few months and there is some Great Britain pro team too.

The only clubs we have are called Rileys and they are so bad, so many yobo people just come trash them up and all the rails are fucked and balls just fly/rattle in pockets when you hit them hard or with spin.

Anyone know of any cue dealers? I'm looking for a new cues.

I shoot with a Lucasi E7 and a Spark break cue. What about you guys?

I shot alot of pool in my roller skating days and my bar visiting days. Horrible til I've had a few drinks.

Darts is my pub game of choice. I'm a little rusty now, but when I'm on fellow cricket player cower in fear.....sorta.

My dad used to own a pool hall when I was a kid and I learned how to play through him and my older brother. All we had were snooker tables so I was never used to the smaller tables. I used to watch them play snooker and poker pool tournaments. That was such a long time ago and I rarely play now even though I miss it, and I can only imagine how rusty I am, lol. But I will watch classic billiards once in awhile on the sports channel.

Yeah, I'm the same way. There is a bit of a threshold for me. Around 2-3 beers is when I'm at my best. Before that I'm kind of crappy, then if I drink too much it goes downhill quickly. Hahaha!

I much prefer darts too. I know if I was to play pool right now I'd probably suck, but if someone wanted to play some darts (esp. cricket) I know I could do pretty well.

me too, I was quite the shark in college. Now I can't play for shite and it's depressing and embarrassing at times. Everyone here can play and the odd time when I'm at my 2-3 drink peak, I do get a few ooohs and ahhhs out of them... very very rarely though :( . I wanna get back to how good I was!

My Dad and Uncle play snooker twice a week. I try to get there at least once a fortnight. Excellent game to relax and have a few beers with. My Uncle's the ultimate hustler. Not moneywise but always talks himself down then makes outrageous shots. Always have a good time when I'm down there with them. I remember when I was young my cousin owned a snooker hall in Belfast. We'd go there once a week when we visited and heaps of the reletives would turn up to play the Aussies. Good Times!!

My uncles favourite saying when playing " You don't have to be good, you just have to lucky!!"

In my neck of the woods (Philly area), there is no big chain of pool halls. However, there are 3 pool halls independently owned within 5 miles of my house. Most of them have different sizes of tables, from bar tables up to 9ft. Also, obviously, most bars have at least 1 or more pool tables. Some bars in my area have up to 6 pool tables.
