How in the hell do these tickets sell out so damn fast? Bought tickets for Green Day in MSG this morning, ended up with kinda nosebleeds ... which is fine ... but damn, by about 5 after 10 the tix were sold out. And now there's some on stub hub. Something smells rotten.

    It's been rotten for years.

BTW - I used to work at msg, and other arenas. Tickets WILL be released the day of the show for sale at the box office. Happens at pretty much 100% of arena shows. Good tickets too. Something to think about. :)
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

They didn't sell very fast here in Vancouver. I managed to get a pair for my mom the day after they went on sale.

The simple answer is the the shows aren't all sold out. The venue holds many seats for VIP's and for staging changes etc. I know this because at the Verizon Center here in DC for GD/Springsteen on Monday the VP of operations always has tickets available to ANY shows at VC and of course I have access to them through him. I haven't gotten my Green Day tickets yet but I have plenty of time.

So it's not always Ticketgangster it's also the venue too.

I was at work trying to get them..yeah I didn't think i was gonna get anything. I guess i lucked out if they sold out 5 after 10. I didn't get the greatest seats but they aren't bad. Can't really go wrong at MSG.

Worst is when you try buy online and the site crashes due to the influx of users.
And being on hold on the phone for 15 mins when booking.

You are only figuring this out now? Ticketmaster has been a den of corruption for eons.
