i do share here:
viewforum.php?f=11
you might enjoy the prague pics here:http://community.pearljam.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=67510
i do have a good # of threads in there with other stuff...
tho i really haven't posted any new photos/threads in quite awhile. i really need to upload a LOT of pics, still in my camera.... :?
that said, i got my MA in photography, but it was all old-school. digital was *just* getting truly started as a serious fine art photographic medium, so i took maybe one adobe class? haha. and that's a decade ago. nowadays i DO shoot almost exclusively digital, simply b/c it's so much easier/cheaper...and for my purposes, for my own pleasure.......
i always say i will expand more in my learning/knowledge in the digital world, but i never do. haha. i don't even work in the art field anymore so it's all only about me and what i like to do. i always say i'll get back in my darkroom, but i never do that either.
at this point all my paper and chemistry is expired, and it IS a pricey hobby as i am sure you know. so yea....i just enjoy shooting nowadays and share sporadically. Post edited by decides2dream onStay with me...

its nearly impossible to take a great pic indoors at a concert....the short reason...It's too dark. there are certain things you can try with the settings (such as ISO settings) but those are usually only available in professional SLR cameras. and unless you are front row, the flash isnt going to help either. even then, you would need a powerful flash, again, only available on professional cameras. a tripod would help too, but obviously those arent allowed.
bottom line....
you're fucked......
hehe....0 -

absolutely.
you can take a GOOD picture, but you absolutely need to be up front, and you need a VERY steady hand b/c as you say, the flash is useless, and really....looks worse in any case. if you time it correctly when the stage is lit quite bright, you are close and you are pretty steady...you can get lucky and nab a few great shots, even with a little point and shoot. i've done it and i've seen others luck out too.Stay with me...

Wow! AMAZING pics! thank you for sharing! the first one is my favorite with the colosseum at the end of the street. that's what i loved about Rome. you'd be on your way to these big monuments and everywhere you looked along the way also had character and beautiful architecture.
as for the sistine chapel....we had guards actually escorting people out when they didn't listen to the "NO PICTURES!!!" warnings!0 -
Wow awesome pics jlew!
Out of curiosity, what camera do you use? I recently bought a Panasonic (Lumix DMX-FZ28) camera and was wondering whether it was possible to use the same technique with it, or whether professional equipment was required?Cincinnati '03 Flooded venue!

I use a Nikon D80. If I had to guess, I would say yes it does. check your manual if you can do bracketing.
google HDR or HDR Tutorial....you will find tons of helpful websites that can help you master this technique. just note that HDR stands for High Dynamic Range.0 -
Fucking awesome pictures.0

it's generally no flash photography. same thing happened me in the louvre... saw loadsa people with cameras so took mine out and was flashing away... nobody said anything to me... then afterwards I realised there were no flashes allowed  :shock:jlew24asu wrote:IrishGuy wrote:Hmm...must go back there then with a camera. Great pictures btw.
thanks. its hit or miss. I think I just got lucky. I've known many people who've gone and read about many more and never heard of anyone being allowed to take pictures. I was SHOCKED to see people with cameras...literally hundreds of people.
