PJ not coming to guatemala, so.....
Hi everyone! Today I became a member to the TC!
I convinced myself that there is no chance in hell for PJ do a gig where I live. On the last tour there were rumors here in Guatemala that they were going to perform a show here.
I remember that night vividly...
It was sept 15 (independence day) at a local bar watching a great singer/songwriter from the jungle. During a little encore break, an announcer spoke on the mic about future music related events. The guy, at the time, was a dj working for a local radio station, so when he announced that PJ was going to come in 2006 I went crazy. I celebrated like when the red sox came from behind to win the ALCS over the yankees. I got up the table and ran towards him when he got off the stage to get more info.
Turns out the promoter didn´t think it was profitable to do a PJ act because of what the band was charging them. I don´t remember the amount, but I remember thinking how many fans would have travelled from all central america and mexico to see them here, even though they did go to mexico. Did not go cause frankly I did not have the money.
This year is quite different. I have my US visa, i have a little money saved, and i am sure i´m gonna see them this coming tour! (fingers crossed)
