Pete Seeger 90th Birthday Celebration at Madison Square Garden

We regret to announce that due to unforeseen circumstances Eddie Vedder will not be able to participate in the Sunday, May 3rd Clearwater Concert: Creating the Next Generation of Environmental Leaders at Madison Square Garden. Eddie offers his deep regrets on not being able to attend what is sure to be an amazing night not only celebrating the life of the legendary Pete Seeger, but raising awareness on an important cause that is near and dear to Pete's heart.

In an effort to support the continued work of the Clearwater Foundation, Eddie Vedder has made a $10,000 donation from Pearl Jam’s Foundation in Pete Seeger’s name.

Again, with more than 40 artists coming together to honor Pete Seeger, it is sure to be a great show.

For more information on the Clearwater Foundation and the Clearwater Concert, please visit http://www.clearwater.org/festival/aboutclearwater.html

I hope all is well with EV and I'm impressed that he donated 10K to support for the cause!

I'm sure Pete really appreciates that very much and will also miss seeing him.

I hope PJ fans who have purchased tickets will be in for a great night!

I think it is because Dirty Frank died. This was posted in another thread.

I thought the same thing. Totally sucks. I was pushing myself to go to this show to begin with (just to see him) and now this news. I am so disappointed. This after having to cancel a much anticipated vacation to Mexico next week. This week has sucked BIG time.

Yeah, I'm thinking Eddie's not much of a germaphobe either..... His sexy unkemptness are my first clue. His swilling wine with half the audience are my second clue.

I have awesome seats and am bummed out but it will still be an awesome show!
