How in the hell did they come up with a risk of 1 in 36? I was about her age when pregnant with G (36 going on 37) the baseline was 1 in 200 (or near that). I thought the risk you talk about is for the mid forties!! Anyway, all is well... she is much younger in 'body years' (similar my Wii fit years... 35!!). It is such a worry though, isn't it? Crazy though you had to pay for it to get an 'early' one. Bloody ante natal care...

Her base risk was the 1 in 146, the scan itself was great, that moved it up to 1 in 3000 but the bloods brought it all the way down to 1 in 36, until they realised that the bloods had been looked at as a non-smoker...

Yeah the age thing meant she leapt up to 42 and then landed back at 31 in terms of equivalent risk, all very scary for a little while

We chose to pay for a more accurate scan to give a bit more peace of mind, ironic really... :?

We actually have another "free" one scheduled for Friday which we may still go to.

Dave - congratulations on the pending lil' one. ;):D I can't really relate or anything but I'm sure these are exciting times.

and on a completely unrelated note, if anyone knows of a London spare, let me know. :)

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    thats right!!

oh man its like a really brilliant episode of the A-Team tonight, but not the one with Boy George... all i need now is Hannibal to say "i love it when a plan comes together!".. but alas he is dead... so i'll say it!!

"i love it when a plan comes together!!"
