Pearl Jam's music to be featured on 'Cold Case'
The CBS drama "Cold Case" will use 16 Pearl Jam songs in the show's two-part May season finale. A number of the songs will be from the group's 1991 debut album, "Ten."
On May 3 and 10, the band's music will be used exclusively to tell the story of a female cadet who was murdered at a military academy in 2005. The case brings up difficult memories for Lilly Rush (Kathryn Morris), a detective with the Philadelphia Police Department.
"The breadth of the Pearl Jam catalog captures not only the spirit of alienated youth, but narrates that journey to adulthood and disillusionment and redemption," Jennifer Johnson, one of the show’s executive producer and the co-writer (with Greg Plageman) of the episodes, said in a statement. "It was the perfect accompaniment for Rush's origin story -- told in flashbacks -- of how and why she became the first female homicide detective in the PPD."
Which 16 Pearl Jam songs will be used has not yet been determined.
In the past, “Cold Case” has woven the music of a single artist through one episode, but this is the first time one band has been featured in two episodes. Other artists who have had their music spotlighted on the show include John Lennon, Frank Sinatra, Nirvana, Johnny Cash, John Mellencamp, Bruce Springsteen, Tim McGraw, U2 and Bob Dylan.

I started watching Cold Case when I was flipping channels and heard Sponge's "Rainin'" The show uses great music (too bad the theme song is terrible).0

COOL!!! Never seen an episode before, but certainly will be tuning in or dvr-ing the 2 eps. Thanks for the heads up!!!!"I read about the evils of drinking, so I gave up reading." - Henry Youngman0

I am pretty sure the guy who directed their Jeremy video works for Cold Case in video production. Kinda useless information, but somewhat related nonetheless.0

I love that friggin show. Gets a little ridiculous when their solving crimes from the 1930's or 40's and witnesses are so lucid and cooperative while being in their 80's.
I have one harmless question, though, I'm sure I'll get shit for it.
All of those posters saying they are going to DVR the episodes to hear the songs, are you just tuning to hear 30 second clips? Cause, I could just whip up a quick mix for ya and save you the DVR space...
I'm so dangerous I smoke dynamite.0 -

Looks fantastic. I love the show. I would have thought Daughter would have been a great choice, given the theme of the episodes...... and the will to show I will always be better than before.0
