Is Eminem relevant anymore?

I dont know, its not like I have a huge pulse on the mainstream music scene, but it seems to me, Eminem doesnt have much relevance anymore.

I mean, is We Made You even a great tune? If you can strip away the disturbing rhymes he often creates, one could make the case he is a talented rapper, but it just seems like the new tune sucks.

Are hordes of hungry Eminem fans going to buy this album, or is it a flop like I think it is?

    I think he's still relevant. I think their might be some curiosity around this album because he has been in seclusion for some time. I'm not a huge fan, but when I do hear his material, it's refreshing to hear someone rap about other things than the size of their rims or the size of the diamonds around their necks.

    Eminem came out when I was in high school and I liked him them. He was new and refreshing and stunningly vulgar, especially to a 17 year old who thought he had heard it all. Kind of lost track of him since he's been off the radar, but I think he's still relevant. Sad as it is he will probably sell more albums in the first week with his new album than Pearl jam will.

    His song Crack A Bottle was leaked and it proceeded to take the #1 position on the Billboard Hot 100. That means, yes he is relevant. I don't like him, but he's relevant.

    No question he's talented, but you really think he is any different than the dime a dozen rappers you see littering MTV or on the radio? Certainly the groups he supports and promotes are into rims and diamonds, 50 cent, and D12 and all that nonsense.

    Dont listen to much hip hop nowadays, but to look to Eminem for salvation from the materialism and commercialism rampant in hip hop is at best misguided.

    There are certainly many hip hoppers out there making important, artistic, powerful albums, but I dont think he is one of them

    and additionally the THINGS he raps about arent all that interesting. I mean, he clearly has led an interesting and intriguing life. 8 mile proved that.

    But rapping about killing your on again, off again wife or rapping about carson daly, or your mom or gays is so absurd.

    He could have been rapping about his life, his life growing up. Instead its boring or mundane things.

    I dont understand the draw people have to him. Was, "My name is" really all that amazing?

    These songs you hear a lot of, are the songs geared for singles. Almost all of his lead singles are the same song,reworked.

    The best part of Eminem is his flow and delivery. No matter what anyone says, the boy can rap.

    Eminem to me is Rap, not Hip-Hop. But likely he is one of the best Rappers . . . Still.

    He truely sucks and hasn't been relevant since 8 Mile came out. The only thing I can say is that his videos are funny. Besides that, he's basically become the Weird Al of rap....lame.

    He has a formula, release the wonky, fuck you all, weird ass song and then the rest of the singles are introspective or more dramatic raps. The Real Slim Shady to The Way I Am immediately comes to mind. The Marshall Mathers LP is awesome.

    And also if you say Eminem hasn't rapped about his life, you have never listened to anything but the shitty first singles.
