Do you ever get sick of listening to PJ?

Cuz I sure as hell dont...

I could find new bands, listen to older ones, love them, but only to find myself going back to Pearl Jam. I can listen to other bands for about one month straight, then I will just stop listening to them. Pearl Jam, I can listen to whenever the fuck I want and never get sick of it. I cant believe I have been listening to this band for almost 3 years straight, practically every day and it never gets old.

Yes. In fact, I don't listen to them very often at all. I'm usually listening to other things. I'm really digging the new Ten release though. Generally, however, I space my PJ out. My passion has cooled. Probably has a lot to do with a run of weak albums since Yield.
  • Nope but I do listen to other music and bands like Pink Floyd, which I'm listening to right now.

No. I take plenty of breaks and listen to lots of other music, but I always go back. It's my go-to when nothing else appeals to me.

Last few days I've been listening to ITW a lot after not giving it a thought for six months. It's better than I remembered - PJ is generally like that for me too. And then I wonder, wtf have I not listened to it for so long?!

  • Pearl Jam's been my favorite band for about 14 years now. I haven't been listening to them too much lately, as I've saturated the hell out of a lot of the music. But I always love throwing on a boot here and there. I just need a new record really, really badly  I've been exploring a ton of new music the past few months, and I've found some real gems.

I agree with you, 12345AGNST1. I've been going on 2 years now, and I still can't get tired of them. I've never decided to drop $140 at one time on a band before, either, so they must be special.
    Thanks EPOTTSIII!

Thats how I am, except I just find myself going back to PJ very quickly. I would say 60% of the time Im listening to music it is Pearl Jam.

No, I never get "sick" of listening to them, I am in the mood to listen to other music at times depending on the mood I am in, but the other bands I listen to are usually linked to PJ, like Liam Finn, MMJ, KofL, etc... Or I find I am in the mood to listen to a studio version of Sometimes or a live version of Sometimes, I never get "sick" of PJ tho. Ed's voice heals me no matter what.

  • there are times where i think i've listened to them too much and will listen to something else for a while. then all of a sudden there will be this NEED to listen to them like a heroin addict needs his fix. i remember one time i didn't listen to them for like a week and i was ok with it, when suddenly i had this incredible urge to hear sometimes and i had to grab my brother's iphone from him to search for it and play it. those first few notes gave me such chills, i sunk back in my chair all happy and satisfied....
but no i dont think i could ever get sick of them!

  • I take breaks but always go back....every time back it's always great.

My level of fandom, if you will, may go through ups and downs but I always revert back to listening to them and each time it is a good experience.

They truly are an incredible band in every sense of the word.

Hell, I even found myself enjoying Avocado recently. No joke. :D

Same here. I go into a lull. Then all of a sudden ALL I think about is PJ. I need a fix. It helps. Can never get enough PJ.

I've not stopped listening to them or watching their dvd's since becoming addicted.
I'll occasionally go and listen to something else but it just does not hit the spot like PJ do.
My parents must think I am ultra OCD as I always play their music, they have learned Eddie's voice by now.

    I can't get sick listening to PJ. It's a cure ;)
  • No, I honestly can't go more than 2 day's without listening to them. They just do something to me. I too have been listening to them for 3 years straight. I was recently in the hospital for about 2 weeks and my sister drove 3 hours and brought her portable coby DVD player and played the Imagine in Cornice (Italy) dvd. Well that was the medicine to cure me! I love them so much. God bless Pearl Jam!

much to my wife's dismay... i don't really get sick of them.

that being said, i do listen to a lot of different music, and i don't listen to PJ everyday... lately i have been spinning the new mastodon, the new lagwagon, the pearl jam re-release, some old ali farke toure'.... and the hold steady.
