Yeah good song lyrically and musically.
Seems like it could be about a lot of things. Sort of seems like trying to get over a drug addiction or a bad habit/problem in life. especially with the lyric: "Rise. Life is in motion. I'm stuck in line." and
"One day the symptoms fade. Think I'll throw these pills away.
And if hope could grow from dirt like me. It can be done"
and then the last lines: "Won't let the light escape from me. Won't let the darkness swallow me"
so yah like overcoming something big? thats my guess.
Always related this song to dealing with depression and coming out of it OK...at least, having been through it myself, that was a perfect theme song towards the end of the battle...

Yeah, I'm in the same place. I love this song as you can tell by my sig.
It seems like one of the few openly happy and positive songs they have. It's about hope and over-coming obstacles. (And, it's got a good part for Mike!)
i played down for a 16 year old friend of my sons two days before he entered rehab. the first time he heard it, it made sense to him and he's asked if i could put it on his ipod when he gets home and i told him i would as long as he listens to10-15 other songs that he needsto listen to. i dont know man, somehow down says it all!
I absolutely love this song!! I think the last line says it all-won't let the darkness swallow me-this one realy makes me feel good-i've noticed that I kind of get a lead foot when I'm listening to in the car!
