    tee hee hee :-)

I never thought I was claustrophobic until I was at Disney World on New Year's. I got stuck near a parade. I swear, i was throwing small children out of my way--I HAD to get out!

    aside from that...I really don't like slugs. they're just...ew.

I was going to start a thread on fears/phobias. Glad I searched.

I was stuck in an elevator at work, on the 16th floor, for an hour and 10 minutes last night. Alone.

I got in, and the doors closed and it didn't move. None of the buttons worked except for the call button.

The floor display kept going on and off.

The lights turned off and on maybe 3 or 4 times, for like 30 seconds each time. That was brutal. I kept thinking Jigsaw was coming for me, or this was my Final Destination moment lolol.

I initially panicked, but I ultimately stayed relatively calm, and I'm surprised I did. But I hardly moved lol. Didn't sit down. I'd tip toe between the number panels to press the buttons when security asked.

After 10 minutes, the one guard said "How's it going? I told them you got out." My response: "Dude what the hell? I'm still here!"

Literally every other elevator was working. I could hear them go up and down.

The elevator company came, got out on the 17th floor, and went on top. One of the engineers said something like "The entire power switch is out.", which freaked me the fuck out lol. They pried the doors open and I got out.

I'd say super-tight spaces are a fear, primarily because I am tall and big. I had an MRI for the first time in March, and had to go in a wide-bore machine, and even then it was TIGHT. I went in and immediately asked them to pull me out. Couldn't do it. God bless them, they grabbed my hand so I could feel how close they were, and gave me a mask to cover my eyes. It was better after that, but it still sucked. It was over an hour, and I couldn't go to sleep, because it was for my heart, and I had to breathe at different intervals.

I'm ok with heights/flying/animals. No issues there.
May your days be long, til kingdom come.

Probably just two big ones for me.

Heights (well mainly falling from them). If I'm in a place where I know the structure is safe I should be fine but if it's like on a very high bridge or mountain/cliff then that's a different story.

Claustrophobia. I'm fine in an elevator or something similar but if you put me in a very tight space where I couldn't move like a cave or a coffin I would probably freak out.

It didn't used to bother me but I developed a bit of a fear of heights.

It's hard for me to believe that I would get on thrill rides like the drop zone tower, etc., a few years ago and I would never do that now.

Now that I think of it...I wonder if it started in the Grand Canyon 5-6 years ago. I remember we had just got to the south rim and were looking around and my (then 18 year old) daughter was like standing on the edge of a rock with a massive drop underneath...no railing, etc.

I remember my heart dropping at how she didn't seem to be bothered at all

Heights under certain circumstances. I can easily go ziplining but could never go bungee jumping or sky diving. Maybe it’s more a fear of dropping then heights. I also have a fear of seeing fish floating belly up. Whenever I go anywhere with a fish tank I always have to look at it with my eyes half closed to make sure there are no dead fish in there. That really freaks me out. But I am fine with snakes, spiders, enclosed spaces, etc. Go figure.

Nothing extreme. The closest I get is with spiders. I feel like a real phobia would involve feeling scared just looking at them all the time, but I'm only scared of them if they are on me or about to be (absolute hysteria) or a big one is in my home (sheer terror while trying to kill it and praying it won't jump at my face like in Arachnophobia). If I see a nice spider on its own miraculous web outside, I like and appreciate that.
I'm also kinda scared of moths in my home. They're so flappy - it creeps me the fuck out! And wasps getting near me make me dance too. But still, neither are true phobias as I understand the term.
