This made me feel REALLY old. It emits a sound that normally only people under the age of 25 can hear. For best results, listen to it with someone who is either older or younger than you (my kids looked at me like I was crazy when I couldn't hear it!)

I'm 29...I heard it. Like a high pitched screeching. In addition, I lost 20% of my hearing in my left ear from an accident when I was a kid...and I still heard it.

Maybe it should be 'over 35...' - I'm 36 with good hearing and I swear I can't hear it.

  • no i've heard of this before, which i guess doesn't really mean anything about whether its not a trick, but i feel like it was from a credible source or something. im 21 and can hear it, which to be honest was a relief. i think im gonna check this weekly until i cant hear it, and then mark that as the day on my calendar when my childhood officially ends and i can embrace all the feelings of being old and bitter i already have. cant wait

I had to turn the volume way up on my speakers but I could still here it.

Came across as a very low buzzing sound though, I don't really see how it could be annoying.

I'm Jeff's age (you do the math - lol) and with my computer volume all the way up, I hear a very faint high pitched tone.

What sound do you young'ens hear and is it loud or muted?

I know I'm going blind, but I really hate to think I'm going deaf too!

I am 20 and i could hear it. I was afraid i wouldn't be able to. Phew. I'll take it as a sign to start protecting my ears more too.

I've heard stories of kids using this same frequency for their phones in class so they could receive texts and calls while their teachers wouldn't be able to hear it.

From what I've heard from others the sound is an annoyingly high pitched squeal - if you had to turn your speakers all the way up to hear it you probably didn't... try listening to it in the same room as someone around or below age 25. That's when things get freaky.

ugh, I am deaf :( I just tried again and I did turn it to a very high setting to barely hear it. I may be deafer than the average old person due to all the concerts I've been to. Just started wearing earplugs the past 10 years.
