I love debate/discussion, but I tend to make general comments. Anytime I go against the grain it seems to cause drama or kill the thread. :roll: So it's totally not worth it.

If you were asking about you.... YOU shouldn't change anything about yourself! Your posts are freakin hilarious or dead on the majority of the time

Thanks... it's more about everyone and how they like to post. Some people seem to think any sign of a debate means we're gonna have WWIII and that it means we're all unhappy angry people or something :?

when, for me, it couldn't be further from the truth... so I was just wondering if anyone agrees/disagrees/gives a fuck???

It's just that quite often I get asked if I just like to argue for the sake of it :? ehhhhh... who's arguing? And yet these are the ones who seem to take it personally. I'll debate with somebody in one thread and agree with them in the next... or maybe we'll never agree but we'll have fun disagreeing... but some people think if you disagree with them that it's a personal attack on them :shock: and personally I just find that strange. In saying that though, I think MOST people get it. I've become paranoid though and recently pm'd a couple of friends to make sure they haven't taken offense to me disagreeing with them

and thankfully they haven't.

To tell you the truth I'm usally a pretty angry person. I have no faith in the human race and sometimes find myself disliking everyone. But I love an intelligent thought even if I don't agree with it. And for the most part I find it in your posts.

so thank you... I just want to clarify though that this thread is not fishing for compliments nor not even about me... but more an attempt to be philosophical about people and what the hell is wrong with them

I agree... I think most people get it. Unfortunately a lot of times the ones who don't are often the most vocal. Squeaky wheel and all.. debate is awesome when people can keep their cool and realize everyone's opinion is important to them and to be respectful of it.

Hmm... philosophical.... I think the people who take things personally tend to have lower self-esteem, so I kind of feel bad for them. But I get over it real quick when they come back maliciously. Like...seriously? We're on the internet, people. How hard is it to be nice, even with an opposing view. :roll:

Yep, some people can go on and on about how we have to play nice but they should practice what they preach. Some people talk about bullying and stuff and yet they single people out all the time. It doesn't get to me cos it's pathetic... but it obviously doesn't go unnoticed... cos it's hard not to notice.

Being nice is pretty easy... debating stuff does NOT mean you don't like the person you're disagreeing with... it's debate 101 really

I thought the whole point of places like this was to DISCUSS things... EVEN different points of views. I mean, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong I'm up for a good debate

so the question is, what's your posting style? To comment on the issue and give your point of view and discuss your point of view if others disagree? Or simply to agree with what's been said before you?

I think that my style is actually to be a little pensive, and to try for a little humor when i can...I don't like to have internut- fights, so I aim for non abrasive - but I am not sure I am a pushover...generally, I keep in mind that this is just a message board. it ain't life...

well it's not about internet fights... I don't 'enjoy' them... but if somebody's gonna take something I say and twist it into meaning something entirely different and offensive, well I'll explain myself ONCE... and if they still don't get it I don't waste any more time on them. I wouldn't have time for that kinda person in real life so I won't bother here.

I pretty much give my opinion if asked or sometimes unsolicted. I try to disagree with people respectfully. It's their opinion after all, don't want to start giving them a hard time for it.
