yea as for 03', all of the Boston shows are epic. Get those three and you don't need any others! They played their whole touring catalogue!! I went 15 shows on this tour and my favs were these three, Columbus Oh, Indianapolis, NYC... So many good ones, i'd just go with Boston to start.

The Boston shows were all ruined by Corrin Tucker though... it was a smokin, perfect show until Fortunate Son, and then some banshee comes wailing in on the verse and I had to turn it off.

That's true. Honestly, they always seem to play well in Cleveland for some reason. Their 06 show was great. I always feel like the setlists for those shows are just a little more creative than the usual. Not so much in that they play rare songs, but they scrap a lot of staples and toss in a lot of great songs that don't get regular treatment. At that 03 show I remember the crowd was so into it that the band met up about 6 songs in and scrapped the setlist. They came back with the best version of Present Tense I've ever heard anywhere.
  • I was there, for the opening too just in time to sip my $8 beer and relax. I tell random people @ work about how long the set list is and they can't believe it!! That was show @ mansfield where they broke curfew and were banned from mansfield until this last east coast tour in '08. THE best PJ show to date anywhere!! Sorry all you east coast and boston haters....lol!!!
7/11/03 Mansfield III. A must have with an acoustic opener before the opening band. 46 songs total. Longest PJ show to date.
In my lifetime, I have conquered the Multiverse by force of trUth.

ok, she has ALL of them, why not burn ALL of them to disc and listen to them? do you have some limitation as to how many you're allowed to listen to?

i have my opinions as to which ones are the best, but if you have all of them available to you, why not take a few months and listen to all of them?

No, I'm not under any restrictions  . All the suggestions I've gotten give me a good place to start. I went to TFT to kind of cross reference the suggestions....I'd forgotten how politicized a lot of those shows were  .

I think I'd end up hating the band listening to that much PJ. Even the Gorge box set seems excessive sometimes.

I wouldn't say that. She did suck something awful but thankfully it was at the end of the 3rd show. The first 2 Mansfield shows were great and not one word out of her into the mic. I can get over Fortunate Son though cause it's short. I'm glad she didn't come on during a long song with a tag at the end ala Daughter or Betterman. That's why they made a skip button on CD players.

Unfortunely that was going to be my first PJ experience, but it didn't work out, however the 2006 show was great, I agree with the setlist comments, both 2003 and 2006 just seem a little tweeked compaired to the shows before and after them. I'd say Pittsburgh in 2006 seemed that way as well.

My favorite from 2000 was the second Katowice show, and from 2003 was the Tokyo 03/03/03 show.

I like Chicago, Milan, and Katowice of 2000. Best Shows.
VERY UNDERRATED SHOWS: Boise 2000 and East Troy 2003!!! By far 2 of the greatest shows of those tours!
