Is it best to keep the actual record & sleeve in the cover, or in a separate plastic cover?

  • I have some records that are still in their original paper sleeve and I still pull them out and play them. But when I have a chance I will purchase the plastic to put the record in. My buddy swears by the plastic and I am indifferent.

I like the ones you get with the nicer new records. Paper lined with plastic. I have a dozen or so records that came with those and all I did was take a can of air and blow the little bit of debris. They haven't got a spec of dust on them since.

I bought a bag of record sleeves. I think they are for the whole package, cover and all. Is this the same thing you guys are talkin about usin or is there somethin else to look for. Call me goofy, but I just assumed we were stuck with what came with the record.
