I dont know anything about playing the drums- so can someone please tell me if the drumming on Rival is awesome or childish? I feel like its one of the two...

its does sound sloppy, almost like there's some snare drum overdubbing work there... but I think that was the whole tchad blake approach..

as for the performance, it's classic cameron playing slighty "behind the beat".. and his staple "flams" towards the end of the song which I love..

Not sure what you mean. Its standard Cameron style drumming. Simple, yet completely unique. I can't really describe it.

  • It sounds cool, so it is awesome.
  • The drumming on Rival as well as on 1/2 Full is awesome. Matt Cameron is the man! He is a strong drummer who can adjust his style. I hope they make better use of his abilities on the new album.

Anybody heard his drumming on Harrybu McCage? He is just as bad-ass rocking those fresh jazz stylings.
