When I first started posting here I wrote how PJ helped me get through some tough times. Well as lots know, I plan on getting a Tattoo commemorating PJ, but I also think something for my father who died 3 yrs ago would be fitting too.
These lyrics seem so fitting for a tattoo.
Oh, dear dad, can you see me now
I am myself, like you somehow
Ill wait up in the dark for you to speak to me
Ill open up...
Release me...
From Release.. It ties in two of the things I love most.
I want to get the lyrics on the side of my leg, and stickman on the side of my left arm. I think it would be fitting.
How great are those lyrics? Really hits home.

eh I take it as my father died when I was 14.. just a teenager, as im growing into a man, turning 18 June 29th.. Im hoping he cna see how far I have come in my life. I turned my life around so much in a good way. I also have obtained his qualities and mannerisms. Everyone says im a miniature of my father. I also at night hope that he cna here me when I look to the sky to talk to him. I speak to him everyone in a while.. and I know he hears me.Lizardking wrote:I think the idea of Tat with PJ and Dad is great, I lost my Mom 3 years ago July 2nd.

My Dad was old school, and used to bust my chops over my existing tats, In a loving way though0 -

What do you think of this:
And the road
The old man paved
The broken seams along the way
The rusted signs, left just for me
He was guiding me, love, his own way
Ed seems to have written alot of songs about fathers?0 -
Yes, they are great. I remember when I first heard them, they really made me think of my dad who passed away in 1983.Jeremy's Spoken wrote:When I first started posting here I wrote how PJ helped me get through some tough times. "I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."0 -

He had similar cancer as Sen.Kennedy.
I'm sorry for your loss

Very touching. I know how you feel. Release is a great song. Its funny that people use release as a way of remembering a family member we were close to when Ed wrote about the father he hardly knew. Seems more powerful that way. Same can be said for Alive.0 -
I don't know about the length though. I think it is an awesome idea. Which words would you choose if you had to limit it? I think it could be awesome still if you even shortened it a bit. Then it would have a private meaning that you could tell if you wanted to.........Baby, You Wouldn't Last a Minute on The Creek......
Together we will float like angels.........
In the moment that you left the room, the album started skipping, goodbye to beauty shared with the ones that you love.........0 -

i think the sentiment is great and the lyrics fit perfectly to your situation.
all that aside, however,
getting a lot of writing as a tattoo can be a good idea in the beginning, but over time, depending on how big the font is, the letters may blend into eachother. just be sure to get a big enough size, so this doesnt happen.
good luck with it. cant wait to see what you decide to get.Van '98, Sea I+II '00, Sea '01, Sea II '02, Van '03, Gorge, Van, Cal, Edm '05, Bos I+II, Phi I+II, DC, SF II+III, Port, Gorge I+II '06, DC, NY I+II '08, Sea I+II, Van, Ridge , LA III+IV' 09, Indy '10, Cal, Van '11, Lond, Van, Sea '13, Memphis '14, RRHOF '17, Sea I+II '18, Van I+II, Vegas I+II, Sea I+II '240 -

yeah, and I have seen that recently the real reason Eddie said what he did at the Grammy's was not to be ungrateful but to be acknowledging of the other artists. he does mention his father here thogh and it's cool.
