    This honestly makes me sick.
Homeboy looks like a tool and sounds like a Backstreet Boy.
    How sad.

For the life of me I will never understand why people get so worked up over someone covering PJ's songs. It's meant as a compliment and is harmless. So it sucks.....big deal, just don't listen to it. No reason to trash the guy for wanting to pay homage to the band.

PJ does not have to give permission. Once a song is commercially released, anyone can cover it.

I'm not trashing him because he wants to pay homage to the band, I'm trashing him because he sucks. Just like I would trash any other band/singer that I thought sucked. If he covered the song, and it was good, I would give him the deserved respect.

It's a very strange group of covers...I guess he's just that talented...

I did a search for Jeff Ament and that is the ONLY thing that came up! Not even PJ stuff!

That is absolutely correct. I work for Amazon MP3 and that is how it works with the rights to the songs. Very unfortunate sometimes.

If I ever hear that again I'm sticking knitting needles in each one of my ears.

    Swear.

it absolutely does not work that way. any band can cover any other band at a live gig w/o permission. to record and release something commercially you need permission from and have to pay whoever owns the publishing rights.

No you don't. You can record and release the cover as long as you pay the appropriate royalties and give the proper credit in the album with or with the band's permission. I see this all the time in my line of work.
