Petition to open this board up to all...

yes, another thread about this being a Ten Club member board...

After 10 years of having forums open to the public to post in, why have the Ten Club taken this step and alienated so many of the fans who are not paying members of the 10c, and made this forum member only?
For some people outside the major markets, it is not a viable option to pay $25 a year in the hope that the band might tour there once every 10 years!

Pearl Jam have always been there for the fans, and this is cutting a lot of them out of being able to communicate with the "COMMUNITY" as they are calling it now!

Hopefully with enough support behind this idea we can persuade the powers that be to open up this "community" to all so we can share our love of the band together once again will all!

    Its great the way it is...Ten Club has done a terrific job moving into 2009 making this site!!! It only makes sense to open the board up to members, it illiminates all the bullshit posts! My vote is leave it the way it is!!!!

    I agree this board should be open to all. So many good people I have chatted with on here might not be here in the following weeks and that sucks. Not dissing the 10C or anything but they should re-consider keeping the board the way it was. Personally, I didn't think there was anything wrong with the old board. Count me in to open it to all.

    I will gladly sign the petition. There are a lot of people on the other board that are not members I'm giong to miss. And btw, members post as much bs, if not more, than the non members.

    How about a members only section? I belong to some other sites that have topics that are restricted unless you know someone and can get access. All sorts of freaky stuff goes on in there.. :D

    ill wait til the 15th to see whats in store... its been slow around here but that could be because theres no good PJ news right now... the 10C must have some legit reason for the decision... could be keeping things on a more manageable scale for tech reasons or keeping out the trolls... it'd be nice for them to weigh in on the issue regardless of the reasons

    put me in the undecided column for now 8-)

    the BS won't stop I can think of a ton of TC'rs that post bs, c'mon we have all had a post deleted by Kat or Sea as well.

    nothing is stopping non members reading... no perk there

    there are no spam posts, plenty of silly threads but they will continue

    I strongly support opening the board to all.

    Honestly, when I read that this was a paying-members-only board, it was the first time in a looooooong while that I felt disappoint with the band.
