No Avatars?

Why is it that we can't use avatars in The Pit?

    Long ago there were avatars... you could only select from what the board provided and looked liked digital cartoon people...

    there weren't any problems that I remember so I don't understand why they can't at least do that again...

    I like the fact we don't have avatars.
    Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

    ... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

    Basically it's a picture or animated gif that is associated with your username. If they allowed avatars and you chose to have one, every time you make a post, that picture would be visible somewhere on that post -- usually they are found right beside or under your username. A lot of people like them because they put an image with a name.

    There are a few reasons, long and drawn out, on why I don't think they allow avatars. Personally, I couldn't care one way or the other about them.

    I'm not desperate for the use of avatars, i was only curious due to the fact that i am member of several forums and it's one of the features that most have..i could care less about having the right to use them or not.
