Question about Taping Tapes - HELP!!!

Can someone help me.

I want to copy VHS tapes to VHS tapes, but am very technologically slow. If I connect one VCR to another VCR via the connections that I would use to play a portable DVD player, will I be able to tape what is playing through the VCR that is connected to the TV? If not, is there another way, outside of taking it to a professional?

    just use rca cables (yellow, red & white)

    from the vcr that is playing the tape connect to the 'output' and for the vcr doin the recording connect to 'input' make sure the cables match up in the same jacks as they're colour coded (yellow = video, red/white = audio), i usually test it by recording 2 mins or so and playin it back

    When you say input, do you mean to the TV.

    no actually, to the 'input' on the recording vcr,

    the only connection to the tv should be the playing vcr via a regular cable
    "ah fuck it get in trouble"

    Ok, so I have basically blown two Sundays trying to accomplish what I think should be a simple task and it doesn't work. I am running the red, yellow, white cables from the back (output) VCR that is connected to the TV into the other VCR in the front (input). I play the tape on the VCR connected to the TV and press RECORD on the other VCR, I can hear it running, it says it's recording, but when I play the tape it's just "snow".
