Fairly Severe Internet Problems

Firefox, IE7, and Safari web browsers have stopped working for no apparent reason on my computer. The strange thing is, I have internet connectivity and Limewire, Azureus, and Opera web browser still work. Is this a common problem?? And how do I fix this?

**UPDATE - I changed my TCP Port for SoulSeek to the one that works for me; Soulseek doesn't work either.

    I sure don't know, but I'm also having trouble with firefox and IE (which I don't normally use but tried when I had trouble with firefox). I keep getting 404 error messages and URL not valid messages, although the page will load. Maybe there's some strange virus or something? :)

    Same here, except the page never loads, and I have to open Opera. SoulSeek hasn't been working either, but I'm not sure if it's because I have to change the TCP Port.

    Well, let's try it, I happen to know that there are a few users who I'm pretty sure could help, however, I don't remember their usernames, one of them helped me get my torrents working a while back. ;)

    Sounds like DNS resolution issue for sure.

    if you go to start click on run then type in CMD you should get a black dos box.

    type "ping www.google.com" without the quotes and see of it resolves to a number instead of host not found or host unknown. If it doesn't give back a reply, the DNS setting on your router or windows are wrong.

    are you using DHCP to your ISP?

    Interesting, because I had issues with OpenDNS just a couple days ago...hadda replace em with others.

    Do you use Zone Alarm or some other firewall? Try disabling it, and try again. You may have to uninstall and reinstall it to resolve. i.e. http://www.howtonetworking.com/casestudy/pingerror65.htm
