Unzipping files on dinosaur computer

Hi there

I am moving and want to get rid of a 7 year old computer.
I wanted to back up all the important stuff in there, but it's proving a challenge.

I got a My Book 160GB external drive.
I had to move the old desktop to a room with a phone plug because it got left out of our wireless updating a couple of years ago. So I downloaded the software required to install the external drive (took an hour), but the damn thing is zipped and I don't seem to have unzipping software on that old machine. Or maybe I just don't know where to look. Is it possible it's not there? What are my options? I tried to go to the winzip website to get a free trial version, but it does not seem to be compatible with Windows 98 (which is what I have on that machine). Any hints or suggestions?

    Hmm... most external drives are plug and play - then again you are using windows 98... anywho...

    You can download this application called WinRAR:

    As far as I'm aware it works with windows 98. The download above is only a trial version.

    I ended up floppying the whole content :eek:, and I think I'll do the same with my old laptop. And then I have to find a way to safely get rid of them. Any suggestions?
