Seems to be a lot better today, but no singing until tomorrow, to be on the safe side. Thanks, everyone!

Er, given my preference for the lady variety, I'll pass on the semen, thank you. The Vicks sounds good though, just as long as it's Victoria, not Victor. :D

    aww still feelin' poorly??

    have you tried honey???

honey and lemon with hot water is really good...if it is rattling you might want to go with feverfew tea (or chamomile)

personally I drink a shot of whiskey and then hot water with lemon in it.

that gives my throat a good break...course I can't even sing in the shower...

That's what I'm doing now. I'm being kept up, coughing. I'll do the gigs, regardless. It's putting me in bad humour, though. So, humour me. I've decided to stay away from any sub-forum that might irritate me, as I'm not suffering fools gladly. The AET is full of my kinda fools. Cool ones. :D

Gargle with a shot of whiskey, swallow it. Take two extra strength paracetamol, another shot of whiskey with lemon and honey and hot water, take a warm bath, and then go to bed. It'll knock you out and sweat out whatever you have.

I like the swallowing whiskey part.

Seriously though, this works! (and even if it doesn't you'll be feeling too fine to care otherwise)

    Pax!

I myself, am partaking of the whiskey with coke and a slice of lime in order to liven up the brain cells so I can complete a paper before heading to Amsterdam on Monday. Yet, here I am????

MA - Museum Studies. We had to do an interview for a podcast that was put online. The paper is supposed to examine how podcasts can increase museum accessiblity and inclusion of voices that might not normally be represented.

That sounds good. Pre- dissertation, I take it? Part-time or full-time MA? I did my MA in Literature through the OU. Took three sodding years. Suited me financially at the time, though.

Yep, pre-dissertation. Dissertation is due at the end of August. It's a full-time one-year program at Newcastle Uni. It's costing me a mint cause I'm an international student. But hopefully it will pay off in the future. I'm thinking of getting my chem. degree when I get home and going into the preservation/conservation field. Much more lucrative.

Edit: I don't mind the chatting.

    Try throat coat tea!

If you can't find something like that, when I used to tour and doink on guitar with singers, ginger tea, licorice, lemon was the stuff of choice when their throat would start wearing out.

In pinch,,,, gargle with salt water to clear everything out.

Well, with Warren Zevon, it was whiskey and lemon. :D

Maybe if the audience has enough whiskey and lemon, too, it won't matter WHAT you sound like!

    Good luck, my friend!
