I am going to go with health issues. All of the other stuff is wonderful, after the hard part is done!
Take care.I still want you all to "take care"--I am just damn tired of typing it.

The first two months I was a mother, I was absolutely nuts with stress. If she was sleeping, I felt like she should be awake. If she was awake, I felt like she should be sleeping. I worried she wasn't eating enough. I worried when she slept through the night. I checked her 4-6 times a night to see if she was breathing. I worried about her health...I worried about MY health. Oh my god. It was CRAZY stressful.0 -

I can't imagine! My daughter is a little over 2 years old, I can't imagine being pregnant with number three already!!! You were busy.0 -
there is no *one* most stressful time. sadly, there are many.....:o seriously though, while stressful, also amazing...so got to take the good with the bad. i thought the 20s would be the biggest time of transition, but found my 30s a lot more 'difficult'...and waaayyyy more transition than i imagined. as i get close to leaving my 30s, i imagine my 40s will be full of surprises as well. to me, it's all GOOD.....that's LIVING!
btw - how can 'marriage' be the most stressful time of your life, unless you only plan on being married a few years?from that list i would probably say marriage is th most constant, but that's b/c i am married 16 years! we don't have children, but i imagine that the early years of starting a family can be a lot, then the teen years, etc. so those are much more long-lasting timeperiods than a first job!

i did the new (old) house, new job AND starting grad school all within 3 months. yikes! hahaha. all totally worth it too! and house hunting...damn that sucked, we looked at over 40+ houses til we found ours....ALL of this is 12+ years ago. did the whole career-change thing last year, with 2 years of professional and personal insecurity right beforehand. whew!Stay with me...

I was wondering if the OP was including the actually planning of the wedding in the "marriage" option. I've always heard that's stressful for people!0 -

aha, i see....that would make sense. from that too then i would infer the whole 'children' option would mean when first having them? not that it's even a choice for me - whew! -, hahaha. yes, planning a wedding can be stressful and i would guess for some who plan enormous weddings, VERY stressful. i enjoyed planning my wedding. sure, some stress, but really...not much. well, except for the fact that i was finishing up my BFA and student teaching at the time. man, i love to pile 'life events' on top of each other. hahaha. and school, in and of itself...sure, some stressful periods, but man, my college days probably the least stressful in my life, overall. sooo much FUN! sure, lots of work, but just NOT the same imo as having to work, buying a house, living life, etc. college life is kinda on hold and just get good grades, travel, drink, do drugs, have lots of sex, travel more....then graduate.
so then i'd say it's a toss-up between househunt and first job, altho probably househunt. amazingly, while a bit scary and a LOT of work, once i finally found my first teaching job, the work and school in and of itself, not too stressful. adding in grad school and buying our first home...yea...THAt made it all a bit stressful. the more i think about it, househunting, buying and moving into our house probably was the most stressful of all the choices on that list, mostly b/c for the first time in my life, i felt like a grown-up, and i don't think i was ready to feel like that. i still don't really.....:DStay with me...

I don't know. I think it's not one thing or another, it's when multiple big things pile up at once.&&&&&&&&&&&&&&0

i noticed you posted and i thought for sure this is what your post would be! :(
i hear ya, and was thinking that is high on the list as well. THAT was very stressful when my father was ill, arranging his care, taking him back and forth to the doctor, etc. and thinking of my life right now, my age ad my mother's age....i KNOW it's going to be a big issue. already this year 2x my mom was in the hospital, etc. sad thing is both my mother and my husband's father are in their 80s, we're both the youngest and closest geographically to them, so i know this will be prominent in our lives soon.Stay with me...

well my mom was only here a few months....wow was that hard. she lives 20 minutes away and we still help her out and she complains to me often about hurting, her blood sugar, everything is negative.
She still has a car but goes to the doctor and other appointments, nearly daily and sometimes takes a local bus. I took her to a specialist on recently b/c she doesn't drive that far...her complaining makes me very unhappy.
my mom was in the hospital recently (another fake heart attack) and I could not go (I have my own health problems.)
I'm lucky I have an understanding husband. She drove him nuts when she was here.9/98, 9/00 - DC, 4/03 - Pitt., 7/03 - Bristow, 10/04 - Reading, 10/05 - Philly, 5/06 - DC, 6/06 - Pitt., 6/08 - Va Beach, 6/08 - DC, 5/10 - Bristow, 10/13 B'more
