what is up with the flicks? epic movie, not another teen movie, etc? anyone remember when comedies used to be funny. sure, spoofs have always been on the cheesy side, but they also used to have, you know, jokes. humor. a bit of original material... for instance, airplane, or the naked gun, or hot shots. these movies poked fun at genre conventions and were funny in their own right.
seems the idea of funny is now simply to cram as many references into the movie as possible and have something stupid happen. "we'll have superman fly in and get kicked in the nuts! it'll be hilarious!" i cannot believe anyone would pay many money to see this crap.

I'm proud to say I've never spent a dollar seeing any of these movies.NERDS!0 -
my wife and i borrowed epic movie from another couple we know. we got about 1/4 of the way through and i told my wife i couldn't watch anymore, so we turned it off. when we brought it back to the couple that bought it, i offered to destroy it for them. they said they bought it used for $6. i told them they got ripped off."Have you ever.........pooped a balloon?"

I can't believe they are still making these movies. It must take them like a week to churn out this crap. Then again, kudos to the assholes coming up with this shit, because obviously *someone* is paying money and enjoying them.
I wish I was one of the assholes raking in the dough from these movies.0 -

these movies really piss me off. i mean, like i said somewhere else, the first 3 scary movies were good, but the fourth sucked and every parody movie after that was horrible. lisa rented meet the spartans and the only thing i laughed at in that movie was something that they lifted from youtube (the dude/chick/whatever crying and screaming "leave britney alone!"). a few months ago we went in to rent a few movies and i saw they had copies of "305" (another 300 parody) and i said to the girl behind the counter "will you please, for the love of god, stop renting out these pieces of shit!" she said she wasn't the one in control of purchasing movies, but she agreed with me.
sometimes, i dream of a day when hollywood slides right into the fucking ocean."Have you ever.........pooped a balloon?"

lol, I know. Ugh, it's outrageous sometimes that people are actually making a living, and making a GOOD living at that, because of this stuff and the stupid people that pay for it.
I keep telling Greg we need to work on a screenplay. I'd actually really like to make a bad horror movie filled with gratuitous nudity, sex and violence.0 -

if you guys do that, you have to give me permission to be on the set at all times. hell, i'll be your gopher.
getting off shitty movies for a second......i've been wanting, for a long time, to write something. i've always been told by people i know that i have a bit of a knack for writing. i took some courses while in college and did great in them. but actually writing a book.....that's scary to me. but over the last month or so, i've been really giving it a lot of thought and i think i may have come up with a decent topic. only thing is, it's non-fiction, and if i really do it, it's going to take quite a few years before i get it all together. i'm still contemplating it. lisa (of course) said i should give it a shot. i think i can do a good job with it, but it's going to require a lot (and i mean a lot) of time.
/end derailment."Have you ever.........pooped a balloon?"

i took a creative writing class or two in college and loved it. as it turns out, i wrte great dialogue, but no patience for developing a narrative. so scripts would be ideal for me. if you get a book deal, sign me up for the movie treatment!and like that... he's gone.0 -

You should go for it. There's no reason not to. I mean, obviously, I hear you on the time commitment. That's what keeps me from writing. I never take the time to get started. Yet, every night after the baby goes to bed I can piss away hours on the internet? Why? I don't know...lol.
And yeah, you can be part of our movie! We've actually gotten so far as discussing plots.
If we don't do that, I want to write a really trashy romance novel. I think I could do that. How hard could it be?

I always feel like my dialogue is awkward. I don't know if it truly is, or if I'm just needlessly self-conscious about it. I never heard complaints about it in my creative writing labs. Wanna collaborate with me when you're done working with BTY? lol0 -
you forgot the random thing falling out of the sky and landing on someone.mean people suck!
