Traveling to Seattle

I will travel to Seattle in the end of August (to the Bumbershoot festivals plus some extra days). It would be nice to see also some legendary grunge and PJ related places; like concert venues, record stores, restaurants, bars & cafes, Sub Pop history, Singles movie related places, etc... Do you have any suggestion on places to visit?

Is there some "grunge-tour" in the city? Or some website with good info about Seattle's music places? I read something about some music museum.

    yeah there is a music museum, and i'm pretty sure it's right next to the Space Needle so it shouldn't be hard to find.

    and the now dead Five Horizons had a pretty good guide but it hasn't been updated for years, but most of the things are still around:

    I went to Seattle in April - coolest city I have ever been to!!

    Here is the link to the music museum - it is right next to the Needle and you can get the monorail from downtown over there. It is very cool if you are a music freak like me :) You can't miss this thing - it looks like a huge metal multi-colored turtle.......

    Also make sure to go to Pike Place market on the water, lots of cool shopping and food.

    Anyone know of any cool, not too pricy hotels downtown that are kid friendly?

    I don't know if it'sa kid friendly but I stayed in a holiday inn down there (like 6 years ago though) that was pretty cheap but nice. it's not downtown but you can walk there if you like long walks, or you can at least walk to the monorail thing.

    you can always catch a mariners game (just for ichiro)- or walk down to the waterfront, also ride a bike down to discovery park
