No Harrison Ford, no comedy. Bottom line.

Ha ha! Harrison has never been known as a comedian, but he definitely adds the humor at the right time!

As far as the prequels go, I enjoyed them, but I think Lucas should have just made one 3 hr long movie about the rise and fall of Aniken. The first hour, him growing up and loosing his mother, the second hour his rise to a Jedi, and the third hour his seduction to the darkside.

A f'n men!! :) He could've condensed the first 3 into a 2 hour movie and it would've been great

As for Indy.....considering I was 11 when Raiders came out.....I hope 4 is as good as 3........never liked 2......"Why did it have to be snakes"....:)

I really like the idea of Ford playing an older Indy. I'm pretty sure they're going to use the age aspect as part of the story, instead of just pretending that he's 35 years old again.

Not with Spielberg on board! Star Wars is all George... Indiana Jones is George and Steven Spielberg. He cant pull a Jar Jar on this film... although... i hear Steven Spielberg loves that Even Stevens kid and wants him to play Indy jr. YUCK!!!!! Let's hope not!
I guess that means no more Short Round or whatever the little Asian kid's name was.....Short Round=Jar Jar Binks

Aw man! I liked Short Round. It made for a slight father/son combo I thought.

I thought that nearly every character in The Temple of Doom except for Indy was a little annoying.

After months of building Internet buzz, this can finally be reported as fact: Shia LaBeouf has been cast in the upcoming "Indiana Jones" movie.

Producer George Lucas and director Steven Spielberg announced Friday that LaBeouf will appear alongside Harrison Ford in the fourth installment of the adventure franchise, scheduled for release May 22, 2008. Production is set to begin in June.

"We are excited about bringing Shia into our Indy family," Spielberg said in a statement on the "Indiana Jones" Web site. "His talent has impressed not only his audiences throughout his young career but the directors, producers and fellow actors who have worked with him in his television career and now his film career."

Paramount, a division of Viacom Inc., declined Friday to say what role LaBeouf would be playing.

The 20-year-old actor told The Associated Press in March that the persistent Internet rumors about his casting in the film were just that — rumors.

"The way that thing started, it's just wild how it snowballed," LaBeouf told the AP then. "I don't have a deal on the table, it's just a rumor. Would I do it? In a second. It'd be working for a legend and working with legends. Who wouldn't? But is it something I'm doing right now? No. I'm an out-of-work actor."

It's a busy weekend for the up-and-coming actor. He stars in "Disturbia," a high-tech, teen version of "Rear Window," which opened Friday; then he's hosting NBC's "Saturday Night Live" on Saturday.

LaBeouf also co-stars in this summer's "Transformers" movie for Spielberg's DreamWorks Pictures, and provides the voice of one of the penguins in the animated "Surf's Up." His previous films include "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints," "The Greatest Game Ever Played" and "Holes." He also won a Daytime Emmy in 2003 for the Disney Channel series "Even Stevens."

After Goonies and Temple of Doom, I think he's pretty much on easy street.

I believe the film is supposed to be set in the 1950s, which would make the Indy character closer to Ford's real age. So should be no issue of having a 65 year-old man pretending to still be 35-40.

I agree that Nathan Fillion would be an awesome replacement if the Indy franchise should continue on. He's got both dramatic and comedic chops, which fans of Firefly/Serenity can attest to.

ah yes, good point! hopefully he avoided the child-star pitfalls and is doing good now

that would be brilliant to have him be the replacement. i had a firefly marathon with my friends who are huge fans last week (only saw one episode before, really liked it!), he'd be great as indy

I shit you not, I used to live four houses down from him from the age of 11 to 15. I played basketball against him all the time. He went by his actual name, which is Ki.
