if i get it I might not even finish school next year....bad idea maybe....but it'll always be there for me to finish. Maybe i need to get out into the work world and make myself into something.

    but always keep the school option open b/c why would you want to waste all that hard studying for nothing? might as well get 'er done and something nice to look at when you're older.

    i have to get back to it in January. got deferred by other plans this fall. i'll see what will happen.

    It's a display artist for the urban outfitters brand (including free people, anthropologie, and terrain.) it includes interior design and fashion, both of which i've gone to school for. I would work hands on with power tools and create things with my HANDS daily:) i'd be able to sketch and make art......it just sounds FUN to me....like I'd like waking up and going. Also you travel from store to store so you're not in one spot from day to day.

    i've just started a design degree as well, but i might try to go into sustainable design / sustainable architectural design.... i'll let you know how it goes in 4 years or so ;)

    sustainable's a BITCH!!! but it's the way to go! last semester we started with it....LEEDS it what's a pain in the ass. But it's great to be sustainable:)
    I'd really love to make sustainable furniture....it's the creating on paper that it so bother some to me....i need to get into it with my hands! I did A LOT of model making in design school...not all my drawings would be done but damn it if I didn't have the most detailed model!

    Good luck! That would be my dream job too if I actually had any artistic talent :p I looooove anthro - and they're displays just make me happy. I really hope it works out for you!

    i always loved doing display work when i worked retail and had hoped to continue it...but alas moved on. good luck! :)

    When I was trying to get my dream job, I thought that buying the required clothing would help, but as it turns out, showing up at the beach with a t-shirt that says "Official Bikini Inspector" didn't really garner any legitimacy for the job!
