yeah and thanks to the "yous" of the world I was terrified of school for two years. god junior high was like being in survival mode. there is no point to it other than avoiding getting your ass kicked, avoiding making eye contact with or talking to anyone, avoiding wearing the wrong thing, not drinking anything so you want have to use the bathroom because ANYTHING can happen in a junior high bathroom, and just basically trying to make it home with no broken limbs or black eyes, no gum or spit in your hair, and no one seeing any parts of your body. it was the jungle. every man for himself.0 -

it was a HORRIBLE place, let me tell you. it was like lord of the rings (this is totally off topic, btw). here's one story I remember that I will for the rest of my life: everyone took MBTA busses home after school because it was too far to walk (this was generally the worst part of the day btw). Anyway, we'd all stand in this big group at the bus stop. Suddenly I look over and this kid is just getting the shit kicked out of him. I'd never talked to the kid, but I knew he was really quite and tried his best to keep to himself- guess he didn't try hard enough. like at least 15 boys-they all kept joining in the fun- were on top of this kid, punching, kicking him, shoving his face into snow and ice, putting snow down his pants and shirt...his face was all bloody and he was crying...and everyone (including me of course) just stood there...finally the kid was able to get out or they just stopped, I don't know, and he just kinda started running home. no one ever said a word about it. to us, it was just another day at the bus stop.0 -
