HAHAHAHA.. oh I dunno why that made me laugh but it did.
I think the father should have controlled his daughter. At least told her to cut the shit with the hitting and spraying beer on you two.I just don't trust anything that bleeds for five days and doesn't die.0

Not sure WTF happened to this post - but as a parent myself, I would notice if my child was in someone else's personal space and put a stop to it. Nothing worse than oblivious parents.0

We could have used some drunk mentally challenged folks at the Islander games this year. WOuld have made a horrible season a litle better!Music For Rhinos wrote:Oh my god you guys...
Have I got a story for you...
Okay...tonight my dad and I went to the Detroit Red Wings 2nd round playoff game against the Colorado Avalanche. It was a great game action-wise, the Wings won, 4-3.
However, throughout the game, we had the displeasure of being repeatedly hit in the back of the head with those little pom pom cheerleader things they hand out at games and being sprayed randomly with beer.
As it turns out, there was a mentally challenged girl with her parents who was doing it. Now, I realized she was mentally challenged because I looked at her and I could just tell. She didn't have downs syndrome but I just knew. My dad didn't realize it as he didn't turn around to look.
So in the 3rd period towards the end of the game, my dad FLIPPED OUT and turned around, yelling at the girl to stop hitting him and getting very red-faced in the process. The dad of the girl was like "you don't talk to my daughter that way!"
Now I'm not one for conflict, I'm more the mediator type, so I physically turned my dad back around and told him to stop and that the girl was mentally challenged. At the end of the game, my dad and the girl's dad shook hands and apologized.
So what does everyone make of this? I'm not a parent but if I was the parent of a mentally challenged child, I would not give him or her beer. That seems a little ridiculous.
And also, on one hand, yes my dad overreacted and probably shouldn't have. On the other hand, parents have a responsibility to make sure their children behave in public and don't interfere with other people, especially when the child has a mental handicap and people are trying to enjoy a hockey game.
 Thoughts?
LOL @ you having to watch your Dad flip out..... nothing like a father son night out!A pessimist is a man who thinks all women are bad. An optimist is one who hopes they are.0
