What could go wrong that delays the news of announcing a tour? I think we are being suprised with a downloadable present of some sort and the bugs were not worked out! B-SIDES!!!! 2007 BOOTS...... anyone?

    Problems with tour announcement:
    - Venues not completely confirmed
    - Ticket order process has technical glitches
    - 10c-specific ticket info not completely ironed out
    - Underpants gnomes
  • I thought it sounded like a tour. like not all the venues were confirmed or something like that. Either way, new pj news is good news.

    step 1 . steal underpants
    step 2
    step 3. make profit.

Was this to be the first time they sold tickets the exact moment they announced a tour?

    Venue TBD
    Date TBD

Bands do it all the time.....

True, but I think that the TBD thing is annoying to your fans, that you constantly have to check. If i were announcing a tour, I'd like to announce all the venues/dates at once. Although your original thoughts like Bsides and whatnot wouldn't be bad either. ANY new PJ news is good news to me!

lol. I think the truth of the matter is just the opposite. This basically CONFIRMS that it is a tour.

Think about it ... they are doing a 15-20 show tour. A couple of venues are not confirmed and they don't want to make an announcmenet until they have all of the venues and dates cofirmed (or as Kat said "all of his ducks in his basket and eggs in a row").

Like I said above, if Venues or Dates are not concrete, lets just put in "TBD".....Last year when they announced the Euro tour the Italy Venue was TBD for quite some time.....why delay the announcement for "TBD" this year?

What COULD it be other than a tour? What some sort of other announcement could have been supposed to be made, but something went wrong and they had to post-pone it a day?

Also, what other announcement could we want to make sure that they had it all "right" for us?

A tour is one of the few things that could have had a delay. A venue had to cancel, had to switch it to the next day...putting "TBD" under the date is just stupid. It couldn't have been that big (it's being announced the next day), so it was probably just a venue had to push the date back a day...

Maybe they don't want to do that this year.

What else could it possibly be that has so many details that they have loose ends to tie up?

i think they are checking out this board and having second thoughts...

Like i said.....Im just speculating here.....PJ did put TBD for the Italy show of last summers tour. Getting music ready for digital download and having proper distribution means is something that can easily go bad in an hour or so......Heres how it could have went down......

Last week the music was ready, the servers were flowing fine, 10C tested it all weekend and was ready to announce today....Uh Oh...we have a problem something happened and none of the files are now opening on the other end.
Ok lets work out the bug tonight, If we tell em they are getting these new songs and they dont download correctly we are gonna get MAJOR shit from these people. Lets just tell them we are getting our ducks in a row and our eggs lined up and we should be good to go tomorrow...they wouldnt want it any other way!

    Its possible....NO?

In 2006, Pearl Jam sent an email out at 12:30 pm on March 7th announcing the first leg of the tour.

The first presale tickets went on sale the next day at 1:00 pm.

So, they have sold tickets a day after the announcement before.
