How would you find stats to odd situations in the NFL?

-Winning percentage of teams flying across 2 time zones to play.
-Winning percentage of teams who run back a kick/punt in a game.
-Winning percentage of teams who score on defense.

etc etc etc...

  • Im assuming you are hearing these while watching TV... Its because the announcers have these people and computers that figure all this out. Doubtful you can just look it up.

Interesting factoid. John Madden died six years ago. His body has been filled with a computer that spits out mind numbing thoughts and random stats that no one would ever think of keeping. Every so often the old Madden will shine through when he refers to the quarterback on the field by the name of someone who retired years ago. Most people chalk it up to Harry Caray behavior, except those in the know.

I don't know about researching the last two, but the first one you can probably get from most sports gambling sites - not that gambling on football is legal of course. ;)

Like you can learn that New England is 9-2 vs. the spread - best in the league and the Ravens are 1-10 vs. the spread - worst in the league. Maybe that fact is telling me something.
