is one my top pj songs for about 5 months now i couldnt listen to it. it tore me up. my mother cathy went into the hospital 5 months ago for risky heart surgery that she had to have. she spent 5 months in the icu battling complications and multiple serious infections. she passed away yesterday with me and my family by her bed. today i listened to "long road" and it brought me a great sense of peace and comfort. "We lost one of the good ones today"

    My grandpa died last week (one of the most inspiring, incredible guys I've ever known) and Long Road just tore me up. It and especially Man of the Hour are some of PJ's most powerful tunes IMO!

    I've not listened to it since the first time I listened to after hippiemom passed... I should one of these days so it doesn't become one of those songs.

    On a related and coincidental note... just a few days ago, a lawyer suggested my wife and I leave funeral/burial instructions (makes it easier) so I typed up some wishes. No shit, Long Road is the song included in my wishes. I think even non-PJ fans can appreciate it. Hopefully, there will be a party, later, with NOTHING BUT Pearl Jam played :D.
