    I had poured myself a roadie for the trip to my bro's place.
    That was 11:10am.
    Thankfully my sister in law is on the same page as me and was more than willing to start drinking as soon as we arrived...11:50am.

    No alcohol for me today....in light of the fact that I looked like the newest client at the Betty Ford Clinic this morning after numerous martinis last night. Drier than the Sahara Desert today.....great dinner....
    believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.

    I learned today that Massachusetts state law still prohibits the sale of alcohol on Thanksgiving!!! I thought we had gotten rid of these stupid puritanical laws! (We used to be unable to buy alcoholic beverages on Sundays). Anyway, all there was to drink at my aunt's house was Bud Light - gross. But now I'm home and I have a different kind of bud to indulge in.

    mmmmmmm......egg nog. My grandfather used to make it homemade every year for our family Christmas party. Fermented it for 3-4 weeks, some whiskey, some rum....top it with some nutmeg....mmmmm.....

    He had given the recipie to my sister years ago, noting it was a secret that he was passing on to our generation (skipping my mom and her sisters). He passed away last March and we were reminiscing about it today. I believe my sister will be making a batch this weekend.
