I get 20 x 28 black frames at Michael's for like $20. Do you have one of those around you?0
-
Yeah I measured mine at 15 1/2 x 24........Went to Arron bros and laughed when they told me how much it would cost (few hundered???WTF)
Check out giventoframe.com, I've never used him as this was my first poster framed.
I liked his color sceme with the matting and custom made my setup on americanframe.com
like 80bux or so with three mats, it's being shipped already....i'll re-post the results when I get it done.0 -
Have a look through the FRAMED POSTER thread. Lots of people in there recommend http://www.americanframe.com as *the* site for framing materials.
The way it's organized is really well done - you can do a live preview of the finished product - and the prices seem reasonable.

Sorry I must say that the EV posters are amazing and if you have the money spend $100 -$200 to get it framed at Mike's ( or by a local professional). I understand if you don't have the money. I personally would wait and save the $$$ and give it the frame it deserves. Here's a few of mine that I waited for rather than putting them in a black frame

I would deffinately check out the others reccomendations.
I paid to have both of mine framed, I think about $350 @ michaels craft store, with a single mat. And, it will be two weeks before I see the finshed product.
If you really want to do it on the cheap, you can buy framing stuff at home depot, cut and stain it yourself. A friend of mine does that for her photography business and it can work out quite nicely

Thanks!
Don't go to the franchise places. They do an okay job, but they charge way to much. Find a a mom and pop type place, and let em know you don't want to spend a ton of doe. There are many options as far as matting and glass and the actual frame goes. The cheapest way to do it professionally is a black metal frame with any type of matte. Make sure you get an acid free back.
sorry if this is already redundant. I didn't read any other posts. Rockon.I can get you a toe by three o'clock...0 -

I go to Michaels Art Supply... pick up the metal frames (black). You need to buy one each of the sizes you need:
1 at 16"
1 at 25"
If you know how to operate a screw driver... assembly is pretty simple.
Also buy some thick/rigid Illustration board while you are there (You will need this for backing).
Go to Loew's Home Improvement and have them cut you a piece of glass that is 16x25.
Pick up some picture hanging wire and wall hooks while you're at it.
...
Back at home... assemble 3 of the 4 sides of the frames (both 25" lengths and one 16".
Clean the glass real good... I use a ScotchBrite and water to get off the grime and Windex to clean. Make sure it is nice and dry.
---
slide the glass into the frame...
then the poster into the frame... doesent matter which side is up as long as you can see it throught the glass.
then slide in the illustration board on the backside of the poster.
---
Assemble the final side... slide in the tension clips.... string the hanging wire... and you're done.
...
Costs: 13.00 for the 16"... 17.00 for the 25" (guesstimates)... 7.00 for the glass... 2.00 for the wire... 1.50 for the hooks.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

You can also at micheals or jo anns, purhase a mat cutter. They run all they up to 120 bucks but if u have some clamps and can cut straight u can get one for like 20 bucks and will be able to cut matts all day long. A sheet of matting cost about 12 bucks. I recently did my Aussie ones double matted and it cost me 40 bucks verses the 80 they told me for each one.0
