3 posts in a row....sorry.
I noticed that Porter flies to Newark airport. It's not too far from NYC (24 km), but I wonder if there is a cheap public transit option vs. a taxi. Has anyone been to this airport before?"uncanny and immutable"0 -

google the airport's website and all is there for you0 -

wow if tickets are $2.50....mindblowing0
-
haha so what your saying is that i should be wary?
I think its safe to say that will be the best price any of us are going to find. Unless someone offers a free round trip, then we have a winner!0 -
so you can only buy tickets in pairs to msg i thought you were able to get them in singles. so does anybody wanna split the tickets with me?0
-
what? that has to be a problem with the Megabus site. I just checked and it's quoting me $2.50 total for a round trip from toronto to NYC.
I also found out that from the Newark airport you can take the airtrain for $1.50 that brings you to downtown manhatten."uncanny and immutable"0 -

You have to transfer to NJ Transit train that will take to into Penn station (near MSG)0 -
Mike: Nippleholic....Here is your solution. BUFFALO!
It is so cheap to fly to NYC out of Buffalo...esp JFK airport.
$195 RETURN!! You won't have to worry about parking or NYC traffic.
Thats my plan if i can find some jammers flying out of there who can drive me down with them. I have a place to stay...just need to GET there.
So anyone up for a Buffalo road trip??
If I can get there I wanna stay for the Hartford show too but if I can only get a ride home from Buffalo after the NYC shows then so be it, I'll just not do Hartford.
So anyone game on this plan??"Rock and roll is something that can't be quantified, sometimes it's not even something you hear, but FEEL!" - Bob Lefsetz0 -
So did the Ontario-contingent get tickets to MSG? My buddy and I lucked out with tickets to both.
I priced out flights from Buffalo and in the end decided to fly AC on the way down (same price as Porter) and the Porter on the way back. There was a bit of a price difference (not huge IMO), but the convenience of not having to drive to Buffalo won out! :-)
As for hotels, we found the Comfort Inn Convention Center for $188. Looks close to MSG and decent reviews on tripadvisor.com.

purchased 10C tix for both MSG shows, as well as Hartford and Mansfield (will be trying for the 2nd Mansfield concert 10C ticket reservation/purchase),...To quote the 10C from Newsletter #8: "Please understand we have a lot of members and it is very hard to please everybody.
