What are you getting your sig other for Christmas?

or brothers/sisters, family??

I just bought my husband Foo Fighter tickets. I'm proud of myself. For once I came up with something cool without having to be clued in first. I actually scored semi decent seats too. Ticketmaster wanted me to buy shitty ones, but I kept turning them down, seems they got the hint ;)

My brother asked me for a big painting from a cover of an Elliot Smith cd. Weird request, but okay...

I am clueless on the parents!

    Is that the CD with the pretty pretty picture on the cover? something blue, moon, stars I think.

    But New Moon first came to mind ;)

    I also love Elliott Smith. Don't have all his albums, but what I've got,
    I really like :)

    good to hear cropdustress, after PJ, Elliott is my # 2. I have all his records, so I would of course advocate picking them all up. What is your favourite ?

    Its the second one with the lines.. He wants its really big too, he asked for it to be 5 feet! I just have to make sure it fits in my car to drive to Philly.

    I actually got a cd my friend made for me. Its the XO I think and some live stuff, not sure.
    But I love songs like Alameda, Miss Misery and Sweet Adeline, to name a few :)

    That painting is gonna be cool. Are you gonna paint it, or you getting it done by someone for him?

    He's having me paint it. Its not too much of a shot in the dark though, I majored in Drawing and Painting in college.

    Its the first time my brother has ever asked me to make him something. Its been years of him telling me I have a fake degree and such. I'm relishing the moment.

    if you can take a picture of it when you are finished, post it on here, I would love to see it.

    I know there is about a handful of Elliott Smith fans on here that would enjoy seeing the finished product

    there is a picture of that on a wall in Los Angeles, that people go to on the anniversary of his death

    right on, someone passing along some Elliott Smith and creating a new fan. All 3 of those songs are among my favourite as well.

    Wow. After being broke for so long and my husband never buying me anything except on Mother's Day... I don't really feel like getting him anything. He mentioned if I felt like buying him a Christmas present that he'd like ski pants.

    My three kids will each get two or three presents and whatever Santa brings.
    I really screwed that up. I really Schruted it.
