my mother is here visiting me in Chicago from Philadelphia and she has a flight back home on Saturday. Today we were walking around and we went into the pocket puppy store. Which sells the t-cup dogs. And they were super cute and all and we played with a yorkie that is 19 ounces. And.....




She bought it! Who buys a dog on vacation? She has never owned a dog before. Southwest won't let her fly with a dog so she had to rent a car to drive home with and now she is leaving tomorrow because I can't have a puppy in my apartment at all. Its not fair to it cats.



How insane is that? Did I mention the puppy was 2500 dollars plus tax. God. My mother and I couldn't be any different. I volunteer at an animal shelter for gods sakes!!!

    Haha, that is kind of insane. I am trying to imagine you trying to talk her out of it as I would have! I volunteer at a shelter as well. ;) At least that's one puppy that sounds like it will have a great home. :) Or at least spoiled rotten! :D

    $2500!!? From a pet store!?

    I've been kicked out of pet stores for "educating" people who were about to purchase a puppy. Well, I've also been kicked out of a pet store for getting on the owner's for selling puppies in the first place...

    Such is life. Now I don't bother going into pet stores that sell lifestock (excluding fish).

    Let her know you can pick puppies for free at the shelter that were abandoned and are doomed to be put to sleep.

    Oh, I know.. I volunteer at PAWS in Lincoln Park.. When a 40 something year old woman gets something in her head, do you think what I say matters?

    All of my cats are adopted from shelters, I try and try to educate people, but there are some people out there that can't resist a little tiny dog that looks like a fluffy beanie baby. I happen to think the hardest faces to turn down are those in cages looking lost, because they have no home, and they are scared at a shelter. To each it's own, I guess. It will have a good life though.. my mom will shower that thing in love.
