    not true....

i stated that i find it hard to believe people here are actually crying over a perfect strangers death......

as much as i admire pearl jam.....and other bands, athletes, actors...blah blah blah....

i cant see myself reduced to tears over a strangers death.....
That's bullshit! At one stage in your life, there has to be some famous person out there you admired. Someone you look up to and say "Hey, he's cool. I would to do what's he's doing when I'm older."

Pearl Jam's music got me through my teenage stage of life and believe they somehow and someway made an impact in my life. If one of them were to past away, I would be heartbroken.

It doesn't have be musicians or actors neither, shit, Martin Luther King Jr. and Mahatma Ghandi admired Henry David Thoreau's non-violent approach and Thoreau inspired the two men to become the iconic figures that we known they to be.

Like it or not, I'm pretty sure Heath has inspired some kid somewhere to become an actor.

What's the point of bashing on people who feel sorry for him?
Why shine a negative on something that's already negative, you know what I mean.

  • Sooooo sad. I heard it on the radio and my jaw dropped. Such a talent. I loved Casanova and BBM. So sad, he was the same age as I.

What is going on with young Hollywood.

There were suggestions of an overdose, and if thats true I think it will be hard to feel as much sympathy for the guy, drug problems in many cases are self inflicted and it would be a poor reflection on him. Dying of a overdose is a shitty way to be remembered.

sigh, I was avoiding this thread, but i have to wonder - why would there be less sympathy as a result of the drug problems?

(I don't know if it was drug use, over a period of time, or a mistaken sleeping pill accident)

self inflicted and poor reflection on a person? I am truly curious as to why without knowing circumstances you can state that?

  • I haven't read all the responses today. It is really tragic. I read an article this morning that his family has commented that it wasn't a suicide -- it was an accidental overdose of sleeping pills mixed with anti-anxiety drugs. Apparentally he had commented in an interview somewhat recently that his new role was keeping him up at night and he was feeling a lot of anxiety over it. so maybe that's what happened. it is really sad. i'm not embarrassed to say that i was upset on hearing this. (of his death) yea, i don't know him personally, but i really admired him and loved his work.

  • So Sad.....

I remember watching him do an interview about the making of Brokeback Mountain, and Heath told him how hard the loves scenes were and how he was so uncomfortable. He definetly did it for the money...Jake on the other hand didn't have a problem with it!!
Actually, Heath Ledger was very choosy about his roles. He chose roles that interested him. He'd rather not work at all than to be a part of movie that he didn't like the script for. He turned down several roles, including Spiderman and Anakin Skywalker. The fact he was so uncomfortable doing the sex scenes in BBM just shows us how committed he actually was.
No time to be void or save up on life. You got to spend it all.

Some people really don't know how serious and horrible anxiety is. You can have it for NO Reason or you can have it for a million reasons...it is terrible to live day after day not knowing if you are going to have a attack or not! I have suffered from this for almost FIVE years and I'm on xanax and Zoloft, and it helps, but then sometimes there are some really bad attacks where I feel like I need to run...I can't imagine poor Heath and what all he was going through with movies roles, being a Parent with joint custody, jetlag, and not sleeping but two hours a week! Sure he was a millionaire, but I'm sure he felt drained!TERRIBLE...

very sad indeed. I feel a lot for him maybe being an aussie also amplifies that. I loved him in I'm Not There. Truly tragic. :( The Dark Knight takes on more significance now. Will be an event to watch.
