1st Concert! Need advice
hey guys, im a long time fan but finally got the chance to go to a concert - in columbia. anyway, i have a few general questions, hopefully you guys can help me out
1) the colonial center website says no cameras, but pearl jam does allow digital cameras right?
2) a poster tube, i want a poster, are they allowed in? if they arent will the venue confiscate?
3) i havent got an email from ten club yet, but i think i will? i guess i go pick tickets up at will call, but what time should i get in line at the venue to get shirts and posters?
4) this is going to fucking rock! i want to hear leatherman, in hiding, baba o riley, and no way. maybe a little hitchhiker

1. They allow cameras
2. It's your risk with the poster tube. Best to ask a security before you enter.
3. Get your shirt and poster ASAP when you enter. Sometimes it can be a mad rush, so be QUICK.
4. You really don't want to hear Leatherman. I've heard it 3 out of 4 shows...you really wouldn't be missing much.

Don't mess with a camera or a poster. Both distract you from the energy of the show. Given to Fly is much more moving when your not working about dinging your poster or take ten million pictures of ed, but only getting shots of the backs of heads from the row in front of you. Get there early, Ed's preset are fun."It's all happening"0

Like, once was cool. Then they played it again 2 nights later in Philly in the Man trilogy, and I thought, "Really? Well...okay, I guess.". Then they played it in the 2nd encore at ER 1, and I thought, "It's the 2nd encore...and this is the song you guys chose to play, when we're in the building where the fucking NJ DEVILS play and you don't play Satan's Bed. Cmon"
Yeah, thats how it went. :-)

I never understood why people think this song is so good. Personally, its one of the songs I'd want to hear least of all. But then again people think I'm crazy for not liking Dirty Frank.severed hand thirteen2006: Gorge 7/23 2008: Hartford 6/27 Beacon 7/1 2009: Spectrum 10/30-31

Always a mad rush. Seriously, some people are assholes about it, pushing and shit. As long as your ready up by the gates 15-30 minutes before they open, you should be fine.

really? well yea I should've expected that. I'm kind of hoping that they do what they did at the Vic (I think) where you buy a poster but they would hand you a ticket and at the end of the show you could pick it up. but just in case I'm taking a garbage bag and some rubber bands to protect it.
and normally, where are the posters? is their only one tent or something by the entrance that sells them or do you have to walk around the venue to find them?6/11/08 WPB

Generally they sell them inside the venue where you would usually get concessions or whatever. They probably won't have what they did at the Vic, and you'll be smart to take that garbage bag seeing as you'll probably need it for the poster. But, I don't know that venue that well so I can't say for sure.

Just get a poster form the PJ website. Unless you don't care about the condition of it, you'll likely waste energy and thought trying to keep it from being damaged.0

Yeah, but it's totally different. I see your point, but getting it that night, having it...it's just different, part of the experience.

I'm thinking about that too. from what I've read, people don't typically have a problem with the garbage bag and then putting it under their seats. not sure how well that'll work at the WPB venue though since the seats are probably just those metal folding ones.6/11/08 WPB

thanks for the help guys.
well as far as leatherman goes, i really love it sometimes, and ill admit sometimes its kind of lackluster. but, if its one of the great versions, then i really want to hear it.
and about the poster..i want to bring the poster tube so i dont have to worry too much about it. if i cant bring in the tube, ill just get it off the website sometime, because lately i havent had any trouble getting them off the site.
and i plan on being there early!! i love kings of leon as well, so this is the perfect show.
one more thing, as far as ten club tickets go, are they GENERALLY in the front? i realize they may not be, but i want to be optimistic! thanks!0 -

Generally, they are in the front. Depends what your number is though. I don't have a great number, 359xxx, but I've had decent seats on the floor and wings.

I'm 5'-4" and my number is 195???. If I have seats that are more than 10 rows back (which is always), I have trouble seeing unless it's a venue with sloped seating.
In Seattle, my 10C tickets got me up on the side and I had an AWESOME view from there.
I'd say, just be prepared to jump a lot. It's good exercise anyway.
Walking can be a real trip
