Bit of a low profile game really but nevertheless a comfortable win. USA are pretty shit but I can't boast too much as England aren't really much better. Freddy Adu, i thought this guy was supposed to be a very bright prospect, he is fuckin shit....couldn't even pass to his own team mates.

    Freddy Adu is 18 years old and has been playing professional for 4 years....what do you expect????? He's just a kid...something got him where he was...he is good...maybe not playing well now....but once again....give him a chance to grow.

    at 18 i'd expect him to play well...

    like say Rooney did when he was that age.. or Owen, Maradona, Pele, Giggs, Whiteside, Ronaldo, etc, etc, etc.

    unfortunately he's had a lot of hype to deal with... and its probably affected him
    oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    I've not seen him, but it's unfair to judge him on being part of an inferior team. Put him in a good team, see if he can cut it, then make a judgement.
    I see JT cheered himself up by scoring (fnaaaar, fnaaaar!!!!:D) watch the post JT.....;)

    England beating the US! SHOCKING!

    It's true that 18 years of age is young, but the real super stars were already really mature at that age.

    The other day I was watching Inter vs. Rome and there was one 18 yr old and a 17 yr old on the field.

    Sure is a lot of smacked being talked from a team that didn't even make Euro 2008. Yes, the U.S. got outplayed, no big surprise, especially playing at Wembley, but they didn't get dominated either.

    Adu was overhyped. I feel bad for him. He's playing in Portugal now and he's still got a long career ahead of him. But the U.S. is always dreaming for the one thing we so rarely develop - a world class striker. We have world class players at every position but that. One could even argue that Brian McBride is world class, but he retired from international competition before the last World Cup, along with our best keeper Brad Friedel.

    Very true, but in all fairness it's the first tournament we haven't qualified for since USA '94, and we expect a lot more from our national side, so there's bound to be a lot of discussion about them at the moment.

    I was actually at Wembley last night (I vowed never to go again after I went to the Croatia debacle, but I couldn't resist). I thought England played okay to be fair, Gerrard took his goal well, and Rooney looked a lot sharper than he has done for England over the last few months.

    We'll be okay with Capello, we're starting to get the balance right now. I'm glad he's brought Bentley into the fold (promising player) and at last an England boss has noticed how good David James is. I'm totally pissed off that we're not in Euro 2008 but we would never have won it with McLaren in charge anyway (and he still would have been, had we have qualified).

    USA were poor. I'd agree about the striker, but there's not a lot of pace in the side either.

    I'll argue that he isnt world class... :)

    he's a fairly average player who has earned a decent living by being a sturdy pro... he isnt world class i'm afraid.

    Yeah, I wouldn't consider him world class either. But he's the best we've got. I was trying to hype up our best forward - who isn't even playing for the U.S. side any more. I propose a swap of players. How about we swap one our keepers for Crouch? :)

    McBride was lethal with his headers! He won absolutely everything in the air. I liked McBride... but not a world class striker.

    Right right. As everyone knows, Castle Fuckula is in Scotland.

    My favorite club team, the Houston Dynamo, have two Scots. Well, they were born there anyway. The head coach Dominic Kinnear and a young midfielder Stuart Holden, who plays on the U.S. U-23 team.

    but the "real superstars" were playing International soccer back then also...Adu first played in the MLS in America...and now hes playing in Portugal.....so give him some time playing the european leages and then lets see how well he does...he might suprise some people
