i like saying squirrel. like...i squirreled some money away...
or ...he's acting real squirrely lately. or he's a squirrely guy. for whatever reason, saying 'squirrel' makes me smile.

the squirrel is an interesting animal. i'm a big fan. they are unique in that when people see them, they think...aww..how cute. but if confronted with the opportunity to pet the squirrel...i think almost everyone would pass it up. if a squirrel were loose in your house..you would probably freak out...

its also quite hard to spell. i had to google it to make sure i didnt make a thread about squirrel´s and spell squirrel wrong....lol

A squirrel got in through the ceiling at my last job and made a nest in the tissue box :) Of course no one wanted to touch the squirrel, so animal control had to come and take him out (sound asleep in his little nest). Another squirrel got into the attic at work and must have died behind the wall  We could tell by the smell. Not nice at all. And my former supervisor once called out of work because 2 squirrels had gotten into her house and she was afraid they would attack her cats  There was a whole squirrel theme going on at that job.

What I don't like is how Americans can't actually say "Squirrel", opting instead for "Squirl".

I use it far too often. Normally to describe put-downs.
