It's good that he saved his wife. It seems that they knew the area was dangerous because of crocs though, so shouldn't she have been more careful and not gotten so close to the river?

Last week, police in the Northern Territory opened fire on a crocodile as it closed in on a drunken man who had accepted a dare to swim in dangerous waters.

Now he just deserves to be eaten by a crocodile. That would have been a Darwin Award finalist for sure....
