I have a friend who litters all the time, just throwing wendy's bags out of his car window while driving. One time I said something to him and he just goes "whatever dude I dont give a shit."
People need to grow up.
one of the customers i was serving at the post office the other day said, "oh yah, that. i'm not into the whole... green thing. its just.... too much. too much work."
if i had been at my other job (which is a big company and it doesnt matter if you piss off the odd customer) i would have told her what i thought about what she said.

what about the smokers who roll down their windows while driving and chuck a butt when done? (Play Wishlist theme): I wish I was a cop sometime to pull litterbugs off the road; I wish I could arrest these people and turn them into little toads; They'd learn their lesson and know their roles and behave in society; because when I would be through with them they'd know not to f*ck with me!model role model0

Someone recently told me a story of one of their students, 6 years old, saying something along the lines of:
Teacher: "Why did you do so-and-so actions? Don't you know you're not supposed to do that?"
6 year old: "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't get the memo"
It sounds like the kid has family issues, etc, but still. What parents allows a 6 year old to get into that mindset?Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"
Typo Man: "Thanks kidz, but remembir, stay in skool!"0 -

Littering is a huge problem at the bus stop I wait at to go home from work. There's generally about 20 - 30 empty cups on the ground (tim horton's, mcdonalds and starbucks are all within walking distance) and granted, there's no garbage can at the bus stop, but how hard is it to hold onto the cup until you get to one? The bus trip is a 5 minute ride to the skytrain where there's tons of garbage cans and the bus is never full, so you don't need both hands to hold onto the rail or anything!
Awhile ago I was waiting for the bus and a middle aged guy, at least in his 40's or so, just threw his cup on the ground right in front of me as the bus pulled up, then, like a gentleman, ushered me to go ahead of him and get on the bus first, and I just looked him in the eye and said 'you shouldn't litter'. So it's not just kids doing it, it's adults who are fully aware of what they're doing and likely not trying to show off for anyone, just being completely ignorant.
I could rant on for pages, but I'll stop now.0 -

i wouldve given you a dirty look too... you couldve addressed their littering without the sarcastic comment... and the reality of it is it was probably a few kids goofing around and not necessarily how they feel about waste disposal and the environment in general... even if they are just big wasteful bitches, theres always gonna be a few of those in the world... the rest of us just have to pick up the slack without yelling at them like a crazy senior citizen0

i expected the dirty look.
if she's going to be a jerk enough to litter then she's going to be a jerk enough to feel self-righteous about it (for some god forsaken reason)
i was going to swing my arm and politely say, 'hey friend, if you'd ever so kindly pick up your garbage and try to act responsible then that'd be just dandy gosh darn it!' but it was too long a phrase.live pearl jam is best pearl jam0 -

Littering stinks! and Dublin is one of the worst places for it. No-one here cares and it drives me nuts. It's not just the people though. We need more bins.I'll Ride The Wave Where It Takes Me0
