bump on my lip?

it seems like theres a spot on my uppr lip that is swollen. it feels like a bump ( i know its not an std cause i havent kissed a girl or done anything else with anyone)

i went to the dentist today and they gave me novacaine. is that a side effect from it?

    It might be from the novacaine, does it hurt? If it is still there in the morning you had better call the dentist and let him/her know!! Did you have a cavity filled?

    yeah i had a cavity filled. it doesnt hurt, its just there, mad annoying.

    My lip always gets a little swollen where the glove rubs against it. I think it's a sensitivity to latex. Could that be it?

    Not to freak you out DTL but it could be the start of a coldsore, herpes simplex. Might be worth getting some Zovirax. You can have herpes simplex virus in your body and it doesn't break out into sores until you have some kind of stress to the body like anaesthetic or a cold or even too much sun.

    Or it might be like a stye, an infected hair follicle, those are usually on your eyes though. Or it could just be a pimple like others have said. :)
