I'm gonna add Justin Timberlake to the list, I know it's not strictly his profession but the man is so dumb that listening to an interview is tear inducingly funny :)

Haha, yeah some people are often great standup comedians without knowing, meaning or having any control over it. Dougie Vipond, ex drummer of Deacon Blue and occasional sportscene presenter is a prime offender. Gets the scores, games and pronounciations wrong all day long.

"Good afternoon, Vougie Dipond here." lol
People say im paranoid. Well, they dont say it, but i know that's what they are thinking.

Was watching that flick Alpha Dog last night and thought it was a good movie, he put in a solid performance but I was watching the interviews on the dvd and just burst out laughing, it was like that Miss Arizona thing, he knew what to say to a question but just got it confused and instead of doing something about just kept on talking.

Most of my favorites have already been mentioned. Two I haven't seen listed yet (although I did just do a quick scan) are Greg Giraldo and Dennis Miller (pre-sucking bush's wang every chance he is on camera).

pretty much :) it's the only programme I HAVE to watch... even last night I was watching 'I'm a celebrity blah blah blah' and my housemate came down and was like 'the panel at 10' looking a wee bit panicked... and I said 'of course' :D it's like a weekly thing.

binaural... it's on them clips I posted. Hey I just saw alpha dog for the first time last week and thought he was was really good :o
    The Astoria??? Orgazmic!
    Verona??? it's all surmountable

    My favorite is Hedberg RIP

I saw Mitch Fatel (sp?) about a month ago in NJ. Never heard of him before, but he was funny. Super Retardo...
I wish I remember his opener's name. He was from Philly and was pretty damn funny too.

i feel the same way about bill hicks and david cross. they've got their amusing moments, but it's mostly just ranting with no jokes, timing, or punchline.
Hicks was an excellent comedian (see his earlier stuff. there's a video on youtube from when he was about 18 and he's brilliant, barely any ranting or cursing), he just chose to philosophise rather than go for simple laughs. I much prefer it that way to be honest. He was a man possessed.
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"

Local radio station started doing 8:20 funnies.
A couple minutes of standup every morning.
After a month or so, three out of five mornings is now Jim Gaffigan.
The worst of times..they don't phase me,
even if I look and act really crazy.

Oh so many, most named already so I won't repeat.

I'd also recommend Don Rickles, Norm MacDonald  and Dennis Miller.

Anything that makes me laugh to the point of tears, bring it.

(Giraldo was hilarious too; loved him on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn - another funnyman)

This bit from a local radio station, Bert Kreischer, it's one of the funniest I've ever seen.

I can’t speak to his stand up, but his attempt to hit a baseball is absolutely hilarious.

So many great stand ups from across the pond, Fern Brady, James Acaster, Katherine Ryan (Canadian but lives overseas), Jimmy Carr, Russell Howard, Daniel Sloss, Rosie Jones. Most of these are very affordable tickets in North America.

I also love Fortune Feimster, Mae Martin, Sam Campbell, Jim Jefferies, Ron Funches, Josh Thomas, Urzila Carlson, Ray O’Leary, Hannah Gadsby, John Mullaney, Ali Wong, and too many others to name.
