GreenTeaDisease wrote:well I didn't have zits as a teenager. a few, but no bad acne. not until I was 25. Now I get like one big huge boil thing at time, that scabs up and never goes away-not typical acne (I think it's because I can't be bothered with lazer hair removal anymore, so I'm always plucking my face). I actually found that my skin improved after I stopped using acne treatments. now I just use a tea tree oil mask like once a week to clean out the ol' pores. as I said, I'll worry about the zits after I can do a triathlon again.
Me either!!Can't believe I had clear skin until I hit my 30s then all that stuff seemed to come at once! Wrinkles and pimples!
Ti tree is good though.
And good luck with the triathlon. I couldn't be bothered meself but power to you if it's your thing. I've always admired folks that do them.NOPE!!!

Well as you know girl, we have very different skin and hair types!
So you may be fine! I just found that I was pretty much blemish free until I hit my 30s and then it all went pear shaped! But then I still don't get that many pimples, I just get shitty because I am getting the odd wrinkle AND my skin has changed quite a bit, and the pimples do pop up still! Just doesn't seem fair to me! Bloody hormones!! Useless to me!!
You'll probably keep that fair porcelain Irish skin of yours! Don't stress.NOPE!!!

One thing I have noticed - I went to the dermatologist for acne, and it was mostly cleared up, but I still got breakouts around the jawline a little; Lush helped, but after becoming vegan a little over 2 months ago (vegetarian that also eats no dairy and no eggs) I've noticed I'm not getting any breakouts AT ALL. While it may seem extreme to some people, I'm thrilled with this extra benefit of being vegan. Maybe its because there's hormones and stuff in cow's milk that now I don't have to deal with, I'm not really sure, but anyway the result is good.R.i.p. Rigoberto Alpizar.

That's great Jane! Not sure that vegan would be the way to go for me, but I do my best to eat organic, and I find that's made a difference for me.
Don't know that I could give up my organic cows milk. I'm rather fond of it!
But excellent that you've managed it. I've got several vegan friends and I live with a vegetarian so most of my meals are vegetarian.NOPE!!!

AllIAm wrote:ya it just sounded kinda weird to me.. someone who told you you shouldnt even put your face directly under the shower should be directing you to a dermatologist... its funny cause you do all these things to your skin and then you go to one of these facialists and they give you a panic attack. i used to work with a girl who told me i had rosecia and my skin was so sensative and dont put ANYTHING on it.. and then i went and had a facial outside the salon and she told me my skin was fine. most of them only know the products they work with. its just like makeup artists.. some like warm tones, some like cool and they don't really follow your face. thats why whenever i have a question i just go up to the person who has what i like and ask them.
i will try to hunt down some samples for you as well.. if you want of course. it might be easier for me to get.. or i mght have some already. ill let you know
SO TRUE!!!! you get a different opinion according to which facialist you talk to!
Thank you so much for the offer of Dermatologica samples but I live in London so not really practical, I fear! Thanks for the thought though!0 -
I use this for brides for longwear lipcolor:
With your finger or a brush, apply your powder blush to your lips, line them, blend and apply lipcolor and/or gloss over it.
It works best if you just do the blush color and the pencil. And it looks like you have nothing on your lips.Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away0 -
To hell with cream, and product waste, drink more water!I was swimming in the Great Barrier Reef

Hels, me Lush mask use by date was up yesterday and I've not finished it.
Did you use yours after the use by date? How did you go?
Oh and I don't remember who I was talking to at some point in the thread but I picked up the Bio Oil and I'm a little freaked out about using it because it says the main ingredient is Parrafin oil. Any thoughts ladies?NOPE!!!

Man!!We should be getting commission!
Or discount at least!
I've decided that I'm gonna get the Sympathy for Skin body lotion, the Coal Face cleanser and the Buffy The Butt Slayer. Oh and more of the mask.Which I think I'll use up tonight! I gave Mum the Dream Cream sample and she's really happy with that. The Baby Face and Sweet Japanese girl are ok, but I'm a bit like you not into the oily. I'll still get that Bohemian soap. OH! And I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE LEMONY FLUTTER cuticle and hand cream. It's beautiful!

I love coal face it is so good for my skin, I also use Enzymion moisturiser and king of skin boddy butter.
I have really bad skin and used to only use johnstons baby productsuntill I discovered Lush. I think my next purchase will be the Bohemian soap & Sympathy For The Skin.

oh! the Johnston's baby products are all petroleum based!! Actually so many of the products on the market these days are. There's no way I'd be using that kind of thing on my skin let alone a baby's!
The coal face is so good! I love it! And I didn't think I would because of the smell, but I'm actually getting quite fond of it. It leaves my skin feeling really clean and fresh and gets rid of dry skin too. I can thorough recommend the Sympathy for Skin. There's something about those bananas that really have softened and moisturized my skin, which is amazing to me because my hands in particular have been really suffering and looking dry and yucky with all the hand washing that's been going on since the dog arrived. But I put Sympathy on after my shower and it keeps my hands soft and stops them from drying out all day AND it's not GREASY!
And as for the Bohemian soap, well I'm a sucker for anything lemon, so I love the stuff!NOPE!!!

I know but they where the only products that didn't seem to irritate my eczema, it seems to have cleared up (almost) completely now though with using Lush products.Astoria 20/04/06, Leeds 25/08/06, Prague 22/09/06, Wembley 18/06/07,

Well that's what The Mumma reckons. And she's pretty cluey about this kinda stuff. Reads EVERY bloody label on EVERY bloody product!! Going to the supermarket with her is a bloody nightmare!!
My sister in law would never use Johnston's on the kids either for the same reason.NOPE!!!

oh that's good.Have you tried Lucas' Pawpaw ointment? Or Organic coconut oil? My Dad gets really bad psoriasis and he swears by the coconut oil and the sister in law and I get a bit of eczema and have found the Pawpaw ointment really, really good. But then you'll probably do really well with the Sympathy for Skin. I get keratosis pilaris on my arms and between the buffy and the sympathy for skin it's starting to actually clear up for the first time in FOREVER!

I have just had a look at the Pawpaw ointment and I might go if the sympathy for the skin doesn't work. As I said though it is nowhere near as bad as it used to be, I had it all over my arms and legs and was on a course of steroids for quite some time, but that didn't seem to help either.
