    It will still be at least another month before downtown Auckland's Vector Arena is tested under the weight of moshing feet.

    Contractors say the work on the 12,000 seat complex will be completed by August 31 at the earliest. But the wait may be worth it with some big name acts likely to grace the stage.

    Arena management are still refusing to confirm whether Split Enz will play the big opening night gig. They say they have various things on the boil but cannot yet confirm anything.

    However, with powerhouse rock band Pearl Jam set to grace Auckland in November on the southern leg of its world tour, the Vector Arena is the most likely venue.

    HI!!!! thats all really... felt a bit left out... everyone else was here today, and imissed it all.

    i have bought the Avo on vinyl..... not missing out again....

    i dont have the hoodie to go with it..... so i hope that doesn't matter... i have a picture of a steinlager bottle ;)

    Who's ordered Avocado Vinyl?

    I'll have 3 versions of it now. Store, Fan Club and Vinyl.

    If you buy an Avocado cd from 10C now, is it still the fan club version or do you get the store version? I know you wouldnt get the new year new york CD but that doesnt bother me so much.

    If Terryible is Wearing a MoonLight Graham Hoodie, But does not have Avocado on Vinyl, and RedPJ is standing next to NewZealandJamFan with and Avocado Vinyl, but not wearing a hoodie, then who has a hoodie, and not a vinyl.....and which one is a girl??? and whos standing next to Terryible??

    The official announcement will be interesting

    As I have said before, its on. Thanks to those lurkers there who have PM'ed with info, and my sources in vector. Pearl Jam like I said have booked hotel accomodation in Auckland, so i wonder if the announcement will be delayed until the opening date and band (split enz?) for vector are announced.....

    yeah sounds very hush hush at the moment. but would make me proud to have pearl jam one of the first bands to play vector arena.

    remember when eddie was drinking stella at the auckland seven worlds gig, and we gave him shit cos it wasnt steinlager - he looked like he broken some important cultural norm....
