what do you think the long term value of some of the more rare or sought after posters will be? think any ames or klausen will end up selling for thousands (like some of the hendrix and old 60s posters)?
which posters will stand the test of time and which will just fade?

i think the 98s will go up slightly in value due to the limited runs.
as for more recent stuff- the msg 2003, klaussen borgotas, klaussen dusseldorf will continue to be sought after.
not so sure a bout anything else0 -

You should just cut your losses and sell me your posters now.
I think the Istanbul poster is close to $1000 now.... I heard someone sell one for $800 a few years ago.0 -
I sold a 1998 poster for $500 last year.
I dont buy posters to re-sell/flip them, but no poster is worth THAT much money to me.-

there are two that i'd pay (and will upon finding them someday) that much for. my first two shows: san diego 98 and seattle 98.0 -
Love that poster, hoping to get some cash soon - might treat myself.....http://www.wishlistfoundation.org

I don't think they will sell like the posters from the 60's for the simple reason that posters in the 60's weren't thought of as collector items, and were treated very poorly, unlike posters today which are treated like a new born baby and archived right away.
There are also many more posters created today than ever before which will decrease long term value.hobbes wrote:what do you think the long term value of some of the more rare or sought after posters will be? think any ames or klausen will end up selling for thousands (like some of the hendrix and old 60s posters)?

yeah, I see it in the same light as baseball cards in the late 80's/early 90s. people didn't actively go out to profit on cards until they found out how much a Mickey Mantle card was worth.
they'll all be valuable over time, but I wouldn't expect many to go for hundreds unless this band lasts as long as the stones. it's tough to pick which ones will be the greats, which is why I'm content only buying ones from the shows I've been to.0 -
I think this is probably the high point for posters. There are so many of them out there that the value will begin to drop. If there are 1,000 posters from every show, just think about the total number of Pearl Jam posters available."Don't lose your inner heat...ever" - EV 5/13/060

Posters will be worth what you think its worth. This lady told me once 'why don't you just take a picture of your poster and frame it. its not illegal cause you not reselling the picture. Then sell your real poster...not for cash but for gift certificates from grocery stores cause you unemployed and you can't eat a poster!!'Too many shows to list:
From my first show in Hawaii when they opened for RHCP to upcoming 2016 MSG and Wrigley. Seen them in every continent except Africa and Antarctica.0 -
Maybe they'll be like beanie babies and when all the hype dies down, you won't be able to give them away.0

I started collecting posters in 2005. I now have over a hundred poster's. I only have 7 on the walls. I have a flat file and lots of mylar. My wife asked me today why I was buying the Camden poster. I told her for my collection. tO COMPLETE the 2008 tour. I only collect pearl Jam, Emek, and specific artwork I like. My collection will stay in my house until I pass. Then my kid can do what they want. My wife also complains about the two antique Harley Davidson's sitting in our garage. See said I should sell them and ride my new one ( yes I have three Harley's) I showed her how much they are worth and I called it money inthe bank.0

Honolulu/U2 06 seems to be valuable like DC and Dusseldorf? Both PJ and U2 will be in the Rock Hall of Fame too? You think that would help this posters value also?0

I think the honolulu 06 will be the most valuable and sought after pj print down the road.I will swallow poison0 -
Poster value, like all art is very hard to detemine...Its a fickle and cruel world. A poster may be worth lots when first released but over time will dramatically decrease in value and vice versa.
Look at it like a medium/high risk investment...like buying stocks i guess, value can rise and fall - and demand for 'rare' posters can rise and fall just as quickly. I suppose my advice is if you want to get posters (and spend $$$$ in the process) and hold on to them to see if they rise in value then get the prints that u like the best as its possible there may be no demand for them years down the line!

Hardly.
The ames 96, 98 (Budapest/Prague 96 sold for $2,000 recently) and Koziks will be the most collectible. Low runs. Good art. Memorable shows.
